Cary Fukunaga may direct HBO's Stanley Kubrick scripted Napoleon miniseries

A few years ago we brought you word that Baz Luhrmann was in talks to direct an HBO miniseries based on Stanley Kubrick's unfilmed screenplay about the life of Napoleon Bonaparte, with Steven Spielberg producing.

But last week a retrospective was held for the filmmaker at De Montfort University, and according to Stanley Kubrick and Me author Filippo Ulivieri, Kubrick's brother-in-law Jan Harlan (who also executive produced several of his movies) said that Cary Fukunaga of True Detective and BEASTS OF NO NATION fame will helm the six-hour miniseries. Apparently Harlan also said David Leland will be working on the script.

I wouldn't take this as confirmation that the miniseries will actually happen with Fukunaga directing, but maybe the project isn't dead like many assumed, and hopefully we'll be hearing more about it in the near future. Do you think Fukunaga is a good fit for to direct HBO's Napoleon?

Although I've been out on Bones since Sweets died, I will be watching the final season.

With the new schedule shift at CBS, I may actually start watching NCIS: LA again.

Less than one minute into the trailer for Matt LeBlanc's new show

I enjoyed it. It is quite different from the movies, though.

Binged it a little while back and ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would.

All current ones or just new/recently developed ones?

Did Recon with Tracey Spiradakos not make the cut?

UPDATED: Fox today picked up six more pilots to series — four dramas and two comedies — bringing the total to six new dramas, 24: Legacy, Star, Pitch, The Exorcist, Lethal Weapon, and A.P.B., and two comedies, Making History and The Mick. Of the rest, I hear that drama Recon, executive produced by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, has been left in consideration, possibly for midseason.

Don't know if you could get Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano in the same room for that long. but it might be worth one of those Jimmy Fallon reunion sketches if you could get all four of them, maybe Kaley Cuoco too.

They all get along now. They made up on twitter some time ago and all are up for a reunion.

A&E is such a weird network. Bates Motel will be ending with Season 5. They cancelled a highly rated and critically acclaimed series in Longmire (Thanks Netflix for saving it). Just because the demo skewed older than they wanted. The remake of The Returned crashed and burned. They cancelled another good series in The Glades. They effectively have nothing now. lol Wannabe poor man's AMC.

When they got rid of Longmire and Glades, they had nothing left for me to watch.

But, who can blame them. They needed to make room for all their Ducks and Wars and reality tv shows.

Arts & Entertainment my ass.

I liked 'The Glades' more than I expected to

A&E seems to be having an identity crisis, not sure if they know what they want to be

Yeah, the Glades were a nice surprise. A cop that's actually smart enough to bring backup when confronting a suspect.

Hopefully Limitless returns. Heck, that even has the original movie star in it on occasion.
