Cancelled shows of Tomorrow: The War on Chuck Lorre - Part 9

Paramount went on a cancellation spree today:
ST: Prodigy
Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies
Queens of the Universe
The Game v.3

And they will be wiping all of them from their service for tax write offs....this new trend is horrible and it needs to die.

That was a thing?

Alaska Daily had Hilary Swank, which could mean

she shows up in Cobra Kai when they resume production again. She has already given birth to twins
Alaska Daily wasn't bad, just slow. :(

That and The Peripheral also canceled at Amazon despite renewals, but Sony TV is going to shop around a league of their own. The scripts for the shortened s2 are already written.

A lot of shows that might have gotten renewals got outright canceled due to the strikes which is a shame. Not that the writers or actors are at fault, it's the studios for failing to negotiate in good faith and allowing this to drag on.

‘Winning Time’ Cancelled at HBO, No Season 3 — Lakers, NBA Drama – TVLine

I guess the writing was on the wall with the ratings, not to mention not being able to promote it more because of the strike. But at least they were sort of able to film the scene that sort of wraps it up in a nice bow, not to mention the final montage. Even still, wish there could have been more because this cast was great!

I remember this happening with the last strike
But for this strike are there any shows that we know this happened to?

Perry Mason and Winning Time it was pretty clear they weren't gonna get third seasons unless the 2nd seasons really improved in the ratings or awards love.

Wonder Years as @Drizzle pointed out got the summer death slots.

I don't think we've seen the strike get shows canceled...yet. Or at least i can't think of any

I think A League of their Own was referenced as being affected. They had a season 2 renewal, then strikes then a few weeks or month later they were canceled. They obviously didn't outright say because of the strikes but the inferment was there.

Right right right. I remember reading that now

I think Home Economics will get affected as well. It was already on the bubble

Sucks because they didn't get to the heyday of the '80s Lakers and the Magic Johnson/Larry Bird rivalry.

What's surprising is they made the announcement right after the finale aired. The body ain't even cold yet. :o

That was the real knife twist: the credits barely rolled before we learned the show was done. The montage kind of hinted that it was over, and apparently the ending scene with Jerry and Jeanie Buss was filmed this January. But still, give it at least a few hours after the finale to announce it's done! I can't imagine how West Coast viewers felt going into the finale, knowing that HBO already axed it.

really bummed about winning time show was great but how ever nobody I know was watching it so,

When all's said and done, the cast was the best part of the show as you previously mentioned. The production design and the way it was shot really put you in that era. The writing could have been a little stronger but it wasn't terrible.

It already felt like it was getting cancelled before the season even started. No one was talking about it. Case in point: the thread for the show on these boards hadn't seen any new posts until today with the cancellation news.

In my own defense, I didn't even know the forum had a thread for the show.

There was a decent amount of hype leading up to the first season premiere but then it slowly dissipated afterwards.

And yet Grey's Anatomy is still going strong for it's 100th season.

Grey's Anatomy will outlive us all. It's titular lead left the series like 2 seasons ago and they keep chugging along. It will die only after the heat-death of the universe.
