No it's not. It's a geniusly written show that doesn't really go cheap laughs and the setups for those jokes are hilarious.

I'll have to agree with Number 1. The Sopranos is one of the best written shows ever. The characters, the themes, and the moments were all fantastic.

No. Not to say it's bad, of course.

Buffy deserved to be in the top 5 if not top 10.

No it didn't. It's about where it should be. Maybe the 30's.

Modern Family is basically one of those sitcoms you'd expect to have a laugh track, and they kind of went the complete opposite I guess.

Curb has better writing than Friends and they are the same setup of a show.

Who in their right mind thinks 'Friends' and 'Sex & the City' has better writing than 'Game of Thrones'? The list isn't too terrible, but I think 100 most popular shows is a better description than 100 best-written shows.

I think it's hard to compare comedies and dramas, personally (which is why I said Sopranos and Seinfeld are interchangeable) since both genres go for different emotions in audiences.

I think Sex & the City is higher because Game of Thrones only had 2 seasons our prior to this season (Which is why I think Homeland wasn't that high either) and we've witnessed Sex and the City's effect on television, which helped give way to more female oriented shows that are more for a lack of better words, intimate and personal. At least that's what I think.

I'd say I disagree, but personally I just don't like comparing comedies and dramas.

You mean that they're a sitcom? Because that's pretty much the only thing they have in common.

The number of seasons doesn't matter. The weakest episode of GoT is superior to the best episode of Sex. And Homeland shouldn't be higher because it's basically just a Carrie & Brody soap opera with a bigger budget and an increasingly convoluted terrorist theme. Shows like GoT and The Wire have had most of the story mapped out from the beginning, while Homeland and a few others on there kinda seem like they made it up as they went along.

Okay. I can't really say because I've never watched Sex in the City. I'm not into comparing dramas and sitcoms, like I said. I was offering a possible explanation on why they probably ranked it higher. I think the whole list is interchangeable, but I feel like they got the top 2 right with The Wire you could switch with The Sopranos.

Thinking about it, maybe I'm basing Homeland more on the first season than the second season, which I admit was weaker. Plus thinking about it more. I think Homeland's charm is more on the acting than the writing.

Christina Ricci To Play Lizzie Borden In Lifetime Movie
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

Long before Amanda Knox, Casey Anthony and Jodi Arias, there was another young American woman on a trial for murder that became a media spectacle. I’ve learned exclusively that Christina Ricci has been tapped to play Lizzie Borden in a Lifetime original movie about the woman tried and acquitted in the 1892 ax murders of her father and stepmother. Directed by Nick Gomez and produced by Sony Pictures Television, the movie tells the story of Fall River, Mass., resident Borden, who finds herself on trial for the brutal murder with a hatchet-type weapon of her father, Andrew Jackson Borden, and his second wife, Abby Durfee Gray Borden, at their family home. She was acquitted at a trial, which drew national attention, though no one else was ever charged with the crime, which has remained unsolved. Despite being found guilty in the court of public opinion in her native town, at least in some circles, Borden lived in Fall River for the rest of her life. Judith Verno (Lifetime’s Drew Peterson: Untouchable) executive produces the movie, which joins such recent entries at the network as Amanda Knox: Murder On Trial In Italy, Prosecuting Casey Anthony and the upcoming Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret, which also is exec produced by Verno.

A little late to this story, Lifetime... I thought your thing was turning these events into TV movies two weeks after they happen, not 120 years after. :o

If this was going to the big screen I'd be much more excited. Has Ricci really been reduced to Lifetime?

Eh. I think she could bounce from a lead role in a Lifetime movie to a supporting role in a movie that's actually good, if she wanted to. She's not at Code Lohan-level danger yet, where no one will ever want her except Lifetime, Charlie Sheen or the makers of Scary Movie sequels.

This.

I don't doubt she could pull off the creepy vibe Borden obviously has, but this really should be a theatrical thing.

All sitcoms are pretty much setup the same way. Running gags, resolution within each episode, ongoing characters, character archetypes, etc. The only thing Friends really differs from Curb is the dramatic element for tension. Curb uses awkwardness for tension. So yes, they are both sitcoms definitely. The list was of tv shows which includes sitcoms, dramas, serials, etc. I picked Friends because they were both sitcoms. You can't really compare Curb to LOST or Sopranos.

Oh, I thought you meant premise and characters when you said setup.

I'd have to agree that it's hard to compare sitcoms and dramas on this list, which is why I said to JJJ that I wouldn't talk about why Sex in the City is ranked higher than Game of Thrones. It's hard to compare genres.

I knew Peter was gonna be her before I even clicked.

Well, they sure aren't gonna let him be Allison Williams. :o
