Am I the only person that thinks the new suit is pretty cool lookin?

Dont get me wrong, Im a fan of the BB suit, but damn the new suit looks pretty Effin cool.

You know what would be cool? If when he asks for a new suit, Fox brings out the nipple suit! And then bruce is like "lose the nipples" That'd be sooooo ballin'!

Yea, Id crack up pretty hard if I saw that. :woot:

And then I'd say "take that shoe-macker, you little dink!"

And if I was in the theater with you, thatd be our cue to high five and laugh at the previous batman flicks. :yay:

Those guys said 'dink.' Ha.

And then everyone would throw their popcorn at you yelling "shut up! We're trying to watch the Dark FREAKING Knight!"

And the word "dink" is sex.

Quote from THE GUARD: “Nope. Protection isn't a good reason either, as he fell three stories in the BEGINS suit on fire and was just fine.”

The reason he survived that fall was because of the PROTECTION provided by the BB Nomex survival suit. Regarding the DK suit, I will go back to the Batpod wipe-out example: Would you rather spill out on a motorcycle with or without the protection provided by the segments of leg armor? I would definitely prefer having armor segments scraped across the pavement versus my thigh, hip, or kneecap.

Quote from THE GUARD: “I considered the ventilation aspect months ago, but it's just not a valid reason. He's likely wearing undergarmets, and wearing that black mesh itself will not exactly be "cooling" once there's armor pieces on top of it. Bottom line, he's going to sweat regardless.”

I disagree. True, you cannot COMPLETELY prevent perspiration. However, a mesh that breathes with segments of armor on top, and ventilation gaps inbetween, will be cooler overall versus one solid slab of armor that wraps completely around the leg without any "air gutters". The lower half of the body can be harmed by heat and excess sweat. Athletes often suffer from rashes on their feet, thighs and groin. It does not hurt to put effort into minimizing the heat and perspiration in those areas.

Quote from THE GUARD: “Most of your heat is lost/gained through the head and the neck. That's probably why the neckpiece has "mesh" to it, because they put a lot of rubber around his neck once again, and those rubber cowls get HOT because of the air that gets trapped in the upper part of the helmet and the neckpieces.”

If the mesh effectively ventilates heat from the neck, why wouldn't it from the rest of the body? It must be tough for pro-football players who have to wear huge helmets while being extremely active in midday sun, (and to reinforce my points above, even they wear hip, thigh and knee pads…connected with a fabric layer for a combined effect of protection and ventilation). Interestingly enough, the more I think about football gear, the more the DK suit makes sense. Check this out: http://www.fabqb.com/football/FootbalEquipment.jpg

Quote from THE GUARD: “I will say that the suit looks much better when you can't see it. Heh.”

Again, I disagree. Bats is well-lit here…and looks damn formidable: http://www.hersheys.com/reeses/darkknight/

You're not at all alone.

Thoughts on the new suit pic at the official site?

I don't know why they insist on not lighting the suit like this for the film. It looks so much better in jet black, and "hidden" by the surroundings. Burton did it with relative ease.

Love it.

See I do like the suit, but as Ive said before am not 100% sure that I LOVE it yet. But seeing stills like this with this suit lit dark with alot of contrast, makes me go further into liking it more and appreciating it. This picture is badass!!

That's what the chest armour should look like period. You can't see the bra.

totally agreed my friend, not that the "bra" really bothered me that much, I always just thought they should've made that piece of the suit the bat emblem itself and not rey to squeeze a little one on top of it!

Cant you some up with something a little more original or are you joking? Ive heard that same quote probably a thousand times in the past three weeks. As a designer myself I do think it is a bit overdesigned yes, but while watching the film, Im pretty confident that the design wont overtake the action or look of the film itself at all.

Ill most likely just rest my case on this thread unless we get more stills or more footage, not that anyone cares one bit but for my own well being that'll keep me away from another 1,000 "the suit is way too overdesigned" comments . :)

OMG, is this some brilliant accidental portmanteau word? Does it describe the vast gulf of misunderstanding that occurs when sarcasm is used on the internet and not detected by the reader? Awesome.

Batman looks badass here. of course, he's drenched in shadow...but that's kinda how he's supposed to be anyway. awesome.
