Oh man this is the first time I noticed that the glass is broke! Batman slammed The Joker against it! I love it! I always love it when people get slammed against something that breaks because of the impact! Like Ra's smashed Batman's head through that train window! That kind of stuff always works for me for some weird reason.

Is it some sort of fetish?

I dunno...I just love it when things break on screen. Walls, windows, bones etc. Especially if people get slammed against different kind of objects. I love it when I can really feel the impact and it also usually looks very badass and cool.

I was watching the OnDemand video and i noticed that batman backhand slaps a SWAT guy and Nolan then puts a scene with a police car flipping. Then he throws the Joker on the window and he cuts it to the window of the building opposite the bank the robbers broke to jump across.

Its almost as the scenes much. Its a nice touch.

those "people" were the majority of those on these boards circa 2004 when the first glimpses of the suit were revealed. lots of "teh puffy" comments and complaints that the suit looked like a robot. and then everyone saw begins and the complaints were far less numerous.

the point the op was making is that this will probably be the case with TDK as well. after the movie comes out most of the irrelevant nit picking and general whining will cease. just like after begins.

and i can't wait for the silence.

The irrelevant nit picking didn't go away. It just got replaced by new nit picking about different ****(and even some of the same ****.) I'll show you from another board.

i want batman to move like an olympic level athlete, i want a real batmobile, i want bruce wayne to swear on his parents grave and become serious and withdrawn as a child and to essentially become the bat in his mind then not in his late teens/early twenties, i want bruce to have an inkling of the bat intelligence which one of his three main atributes, Ras in the comics is a criminal mastermind with an air of aristocracy Ras in the movie is a sombre, boring guy who talks in pretentious boring chunks of dialouge.

I want Falcone to be manacing and not a bumbling fool, i wanted rachel cut from the movie as the romance between her and bruce is one of the worst acted i have ever seen, i want to be able to see batman fight, i want to see batman pull himself up a ladder like he can do it in his sleep not like he carrying a small child on his back.

Yep... there you go. And people will find things to nitpick about with The Dark Knight.

You could just be secure in the knowledge that you like everything rather than be bothered that others don't...

change the words to
:how's my nose?.....

what then?

I have to say, the suit looks cool. When you look at this picture where you can see it as a whole:

BestMovie1.jpg

the legs arent so bad. They match the segmented motif that is applied on it.

Its a cool suit, but is it organic enough for batman? Green Arrow, Punisher, whoever, they could wear this suit. But a guy who dresses up like a bat (clearly has issues...) should look more organic and less like the register guy....whatshisname?....a! Ironman.

We ll see when the movie comes out.

Looking at that pic I must say I like the suit, but my only gripe (and it is a small one) is that the two diagonal lines on the chest plate should be how big the bat-symbol is. I think it'd be much cooler, and it wouldn't be too in your face as the suit is entirely black.

A lot of people are writing like this, and I've just got to say...

Nolan doesn't edit the trailers. They actually have guys that specialise in editing trailers. They probably have companies devoted to the practise, I'm not sure.

Just getting that out there. I agree that the trailers for this film are very well put together.

Oh, yeah, and BATMAN RUUUUUUULES!!!!!!!!!!

I know they want to show off the new suit but I wish they would have a few shots where the cape draped over the shoulders.

I know it's the stupidest thing...and I KNEW this would happen.

Back when the "Begins" suit was revealed, people hated it...then they loved it.

When the "TDK" suit was revealed people hated it...now they're starting to love it.

But the ironic and pathetic thing about it?

When the suit for "BB3" is revealed, people are gonna hate it...and then love it!

Shocking, I know. lol

CFE

But that's the natural order of things on the Hype.

Whenever a comicbook movie comes out, there is always an aspect of that movie that people find controversial and debate the hell out of it; over and over and over and over.

The only thing that differs is the severity of the debate. Some movies are lucky - Iron Man, if I recall correctly, seemed to cause the least amount of arguements and disagreements (the casting of RDJ probably causing the most debate); whereas your Hulks, Superman's etc have caused tons of arguements and disagreements between fans.

But it'll never change.

Id like to think Joker hates Batman Begins because he wasnt in it.

What was the reaction to IM's suit? I missed that and i am really intrigued to know.

AWESOME!!! Give it some more dialogue. Like Joker commenting on Ra's and Scarecrow as lightweights and stuff.

If I recall correctly, most loved the suit because it was (with a few little tweaks) a faithful translation of Adi Granov's design from the comics. Of course, there is every exeption to the rule and there probably were a handful of people who hated it for hatings sake but there was nowhere near the conflicted views on costume design that other superhero movies have suffered (Batman certainly being no exception).

EDIT: I should add though that a suit of armour was always going to be easier to translate to live-action than Bats', Supes' or any other character that traditionaly wears a form fitting costume in the comics

Good point.

Thanks.

I knew I'd make one at some point. Only took 3000+ practice posts.

Silence? Nevah!

Seriously, I am expecting the film to rock my world, and I'm uber-hyped to see it. But nothing is going to make me like this atrocity of a suit - nothing.

It goes against everything Batman has traditionally been in the comics. It turns him into robocop. Or a techno biker. Or a literal "knight" from the future. It has no gothic, bat-like aesthetics what-so-ever. One gets the sense that the designers only grudgingly gave him a horned cowl.

So sad :csad:

Way back when there actually were some complete and total morons who *****ed that Iron Man's suit didn't look like Iron Man.

It had to be one of the biggest WTF ever!
