Okay, remember BTAS batman? Yeah, part of his cape/cowl was covering the area around his collarbones and his upper manboobs.
Thats how i see this inverted triangle. I hope you get what i mean.

Yeah, but this is not even a cape covering anything. It's a chest armour in two different shades.

Well, maybe those cheekbones on the BB cowl were over the top, but the inverted triangles that took their place in this one arent better. He looks alien. At least in BB he looked ****ing pissed!

I think the cheeckbones are the same on both cowls The difference is that the begins cowl was wider so the lines didn't form a triangle shape since the lines where more open. But on the DK cowl the lines you mentioned are closer together forming the triangle. The cowl designs are basically the same but there had to be adjustments because of the different shapes of the head and jaw structure size etc. But I still think he looks like he's pissed as hell he still has all the marked lines of the "angry" begins cowl.

This pic is as elaborate as possible and I think the suit looks pretty decent. It still doesn't stand a chance against the Begins suit but finally I'm like 99,5 % sure that the new suit will do just fine on screen.

I can see some vader there too, the chest plate just irritates me though, there's no reason I can even think of, practical or otherwise to make it the same colour as the bat symbol, rendering it virtually redundant. not to mention the area between the neck & cowl is a total mess

I think it's safe to assume that they tried having just the bat emblem darker. Since they decided against it, I'm guessing it's because it looked too much like a logo and drew too much attention to itself. Plus, he's already wearing a mask and cape that give him a bat-like appearance, which makes a blatantly visible bat symbol on his chest somewhat redundant. Of course, it wouldn't look good if you got rid of it altogether, so subtlety is the way to go I guess.
