The Dark Knight Capes and Cowls - New Batsuit Discussion Thread

I'm surprised the word "brainiac" hasn't been thrown around at all during this little fued, I heard it all the time when I was in primary school.... Seriously though, I don't know about anyone else but I come on these boards to read other peoples opinions, not just two-line tittle-tattle between obsessive fanboys, so for that I thank posters like saint & regwec, for actually saying something, and if that takes an "essay", then so be it.

It is the fact that often the essay posts as you call them have little to do with the topic at hand and it gets hard to keep a thread on track (for an example see one of the Joker threads that has turned itself into a discussion of homosexual consent to sex). I don't mind people who want to talk about the Batsuit. With that in mind, what do you think of the new suit?

the new suit is slowly but surely growing on me

I don't like either. Hopefully the third movie will get it "right"

I've said before, that with a winter setting the team could get away with covering the TDK suit in cloth and explain it is the cold variant. Plus I like Batman in the snow.

Damnit man. What did I say? All that...none of that was needed. I never said what you did was wrong, did I?
You described my motivations incorrectly. I corrected you. Is this unreasonable? If you had said "Saint believes religiously that whitespace is evil, and attempts to destroy it with his posts," or "Saint trained with ancient Lingual Masters," or "Saint is of lunar origins," I would I have corrected you on those, too.

Do you honestly feel it is unwarranted to respond when someone makes comments about me that I think are not accurate? You described me as a dishonest intellectual bully. By what logic am I expected not to respond? If someone were to start describing you as a flaming spammer, would you let that pass?

I expressed my feelings on the way you write.
And I "expressed my feelings" on your comments. Again: I don't understand what about this is unreasonable.

I think that at times it is silly, that's all.
That you expect me to let accusations of silliness pass baffles me.

I guess I just really don't like when you take someone, quote them, then break the quote up and criticize every single line. It just gets annoying.
Because what they say warrants response. I'm not going to respond to half their points, I'm going to respond to all of them. The argument that ignores the opponents points is not a strong one. I slice up the posts because it is the most precise method of response.

If someone were to start describing you as a flaming spammer, would you let that pass?

YES. I don't care what other people on the internet think of me nor should you. I think you are smart enough to know that. I have nothing against you Saint. Nor have I ever thought to myself, "that Saint character is just plain ignorant on this topic" I just don't like the way you post sometimes. I don't feel like responding to the rest of it.

It is the fact that often the essay posts as you call them have little to do with the topic at hand
This is a load of crap. I respond to what is said. If your posts are on topic, mine will be on topic. If your posts are about my posts being long, my words being "too big," or other nonsense you people bring up when you respond to me, then my posts will be about that.

I encourage you to look through my post history. I can assure you that any "off topic essay" posted by me is in response to a comment made by someone else, usually in response to one of my on topic posts. Or, don't bother: just look at this thread. I'm having a discussion about the merits of the batsuit when you people decide to make it about 1) the length of my posts, 2) the motivations behind them, and 3) my goddamn vocabulary. What, it's okay for you to make off-topic complaints about my on-topic posts, but not okay for me to respond?

If you people have a problem with my long, off-topic posts, then you have no one to blame but yourselves. If you don't say things like "UR POSTS IS 2 LONG," then I won't be writing essays defending the length of my posts, will I?

Why do you say you people when this is clearly directed at me? Read what I wrote again about the Joker thread that is not even about Joker for about 3-5 pages. That was not a direct response to you. Clearly you are getting mad and that is a sad sad thing. This is the internet. Take a break and calm down.

YES. I don't care what other people on the internet think of me nor should you.
This is curious. Here you correct implications I made about you (specifically that you would correct false implications, amusingly), and you apparently don't think it's unreasonable. However, when I corrected implications you made about me, you painted it as unreasonable.

Do you see the contradiction?

I photoshopped the crap out of this to get the accurate colors, and remove the blue tint along with the text, and went with a Begins amber color lighting. The legs are rough because of the enormous amount of text.

Does the new belt appear less wide than the Begins version or it is just the way it rests on the new suit?

Great job. The blue tint definitely makes a difference.

I personally find Saint's posts easy to read. But I could understand those who say he is verbose, but I think that is just the way he writes.

Why do you say you people when this is clearly directed at me?
Those comments, specifically, are directed at the people who start these exchanges on my posting style. You didn't. You responded to the conversation that was already in progress; I can't fault you for being off-topic. What I fault you for is your implication that the off-topic posts are my fault, as was obviously your meaning (despite your attempt to mask it with generality).

Read what I wrote again about the Joker thread that is not even about Joker for about 3-5 pages. That was not a direct response to you.
No, it was a comment about the nature of my posts, masked by a thin veil of generality. Hence, my response.

Clearly you are getting mad and that is a sad sad thing. This is the internet. Take a break and calm down.
I'm uncertain of what makes you think I'm angry.

Haha. Dude you totally got me.:whatever: I'm done talking to you just so you know.

this is a good manip... but this is why im not a big fan of the new suit. It reminds me too much of the crazy ones from BF and B&R. Having robin in this only shows that the suit is way out there... all i need is a nice plain suit made from something other than rubber

i know i b´running in circles with that i guess...but to the thing that the suit looks to busy ..what do you think what sells better???? ......go through the toystore and theres the new batman ....:wow, look, its all new, it has this and have you seen that and wow...so on....its eyecatching it works ...we maybe like it or not....but they know what theyre doing;-)

The TDK suit would actually be an excellent suit for Robin. The suit just screams excitement and adventure. The problem is, it doesn't scream Batman. I just don't see Batman wearing anything like theis.

People need to let it go.

I don't see what the problem is...are some of you that illiterate that it hurts you to read Saint's or even Regwec's posts??

There really are only a small handfull of posters in the Batman boards, if not 3-4(maybe 5)that type like Saint or Regwec(for examples:woot:).

After reading through posts that are either nonsense or just repeats of something you've heard too many times to want to remember, it's actually a nice change to read some well thought out posts...and with points to them as well.

Not saying the rest of the posters don't have good posts...a lot of you do, I just don't see why people need to hate on others who don't like to use slang and like to use proper/correct English.
Agreed. I wish I could write like Saint, The Guard, or regwec. Criticizing the way someone writes is stupid. No one is forcing you to read it and there is an ignore feature. Just my two cents.

With that being said, I like the Got Milk ad. That's got to be the best shot of the suit I've seen so far.

Saint isn't over-writing his posts because he knows how to use a semi-colon. Take some Adderall for your textual ADD or just ignore his posts. A fair amount of posters would rather read and respond with essays than see a bunch of "teh suit is gayzorz" messages. I don't see why anyone has to call him out because he organizes his thoughts and writing; it actually makes the posts EASIER to read.

I've said before, that with a winter setting the team could get away with covering the TDK suit in cloth and explain it is the cold variant. Plus I like Batman in the snow.
Hell yes to this. A winter-time Batmovie would rock so hard. It could look like Tim Sale's artwork come to life.

Keep this about the suit, I don't want to see anymore debate over how Saint or Regwec post, if you don't like their long essay style, then don't reply to them.
