so Batman should stop what he's doing and fix his cape so it looks perfect because he's in an iconic moment?
That's a bit ridiculous. If the production crew takes the time to shape the cape to their liking for the iconic shots, it's not implausible to think they'd do the same for the more quieter moments as well.

God, if I rolled my eyes any harder I'd be risking gruesome injury. It's a movie. They have people following Bale around to make sure his cape looks awesome. Or did you think when he saved Rachel in the subway that his cape looked fantastic by accident?

man guys dont go on the hulk boards they get real mad at you when you call 03 hulk fat, anyway anybody catching these tvspots floating around i love how the suit looks in action

I think the suit is very well suited for the Nolan universe yet their are some problems with it. My main one being the size of the mouth hole which I'm sure is soon going to take over the whole of his face until we have a completely black faced batman in like Batman of the Future.

as has been said before. Bale does not have the proper jaw structure for a accurate mouth hole on the cowl, there have been manipped pics of bales batman with a proper mouth hole and it does not look right.

Interestingly, the only Batman actors who have had a good (almost perfect in Clooney's case :wow:) jaw structure were Kilmer and Clooney.

Shame bout the acting skills then.

Although Bale looks fantastic in this shot - nothing wrong with the chin...

Clooney's chin has the bone structure, but i didnt like him under the cowl. I didnt like him as BW, nor as batman. Acting aside, he didnt look right to me. Plus he was too well known when he put the cowl on, so you would instantly say, what the hell is clooney doing there?

I didnt know Bale so much beforehand, so i didnt have this problem with him. Also, he was born to play BW. He looks the part so bad!

Thing is, I don't know if the cowl had/has any part in this, I can't see Bale/Wayne when I see Batman at all. It's really helping the whole duality thing.

I like the smaller mouth hole, it allows him to speak, but it protects his jaw....I think thats the point, he shouldn't be running around with his jaw exposed so he can get it cut/burned or scarred....Billionaire Bruce Wayne shows up with a bunch of scars on his face, people will ask questions.

I think you re taking this too far with the realism.

If that was a concern, bale would be wearing an Ironman suit.
Batman always wore that cowl. If we take it realistically like you suggest, batman would be wearing an ironman suit with fangs and furr. I mean, come on!
The smaller mouth opening is an attempt to fix Bale's jaw, to make it more square and to make the upper lip smaller, while making the jaw longer.

I cant say i didnt like his jaw in BB. I liked that cowl a lot actually! All they had to do was to slim down the neck (only a bit) and make the extra cheeks of the cowl smaller. They were really protruding.

The problem with Clooney's cowl is that it's much too open. The wide mouth opening is appropriately comic-style, but when coupled with pretty gigantic eye holes (and Clooney/Schumacher's refusal to at all change the tone of his voice), it becomes painfully obvious that it's Bruce Wayne/George Clooney under the mask.

Even covering your ears you could identify Clooney's Wayne as Batman...

The only two people in Gotham who needlessly bob their heads around when they talk.

so your saying its more important that his jaw looks squared?, and wearing an Iron Man suit with fangs and fur would look ridiculous. I know its only a movie, but I like realism, I like that everything done thus far has been plausible, as opposed to babies being born to look like deformed penguins, falling from a high building and getting licked by cats giving you cat-like reflexes and abilities, having acid thrown in your face yet the scar is perfectly centered down your face, or having your hair change from long and brown to short and red everytime you put on a Riddler's suit. Comicbook Batman has a square jaw and wears spandex, you'd rather have that then a realistic looking Batman, whose jaw isn't a square as we would like?

Wow you completely misinterpreted what i say. I am merely saying that if you apply your realism to a bigger extent, then batman wouldnt be having an uncoverd mouth, he would be using tasers to instantly take care of his enemies without killing them, etc.

that seems to be a major problem with nolans realism take on the films that confuses people. there is a difference between realism and reality. realism is supposed to make the viewer have thoughts of it seeming more plausable in the real world. but there still needs to be that fantasy element in it. in the real world, a bank robbery like jokers could happen, but tell me what are the odds that that school bus would have actually hit the robber?
you need the fantasy element in there a bit, otherwise its just so dude in a bulletproof vest and cape jumping on rooftops.

When I was growing up my mom would make brownies for me and my dad. My dad liked walnuts in his brownies and I hated them, but he would always tell my mom to put them in the mix and I'd be stuck having to dig them out and eating the leftover brownie bits, occasionally getting a stray walnut regardless.

The DK suit is the walnut in my brownie. :cmad::cwink:

No, as others have pointed out, the production should. The way the production is responsible for makeup, lighting, sets, etc. Or else, why the hell do they pay cape wranglers to follow him around and make his cape look good?

I find it interesting that on the BB suit feature on the DVD they talk about the previous suits being too "industrial" and how Nolan wanted to "take it back to the organic form of the figure..."

Kind of ironic now, isn't it?

LOL that is actually. Something must have sold him on going in this direction, and hopefully that will be brought out in some way during the movie.

Could it? It looks old school to me, these days robberies are more likely to be done an email claiming to be a long lost prince of Nigeria with US $10,000,000 all for you. All he needs is your credit card number and online ID.:woot:

I think the hanging of Brian Douglass and his body hitting precisely the mayor's window as Dent is promising him 18 mths crime free is more ironic and less believable.

Just thought I'd point that out :oldrazz: I mean I think it's kind of weird when an argument is given by the director for doing something a specific way and then the next movie they do it different for whatever reason and come up with a completely different argument why it has to be that way now.

I bet if I re-watched some more of the featurettes I'll find quotes like "the Tumbler is the only vehicle Batman could realistically have and survive out on the streets...." or something, when now he's got the batpod- Lol. Actually listening to Nolan talk about the methodology behind their choices in BB is really interesting and confusing as well. Because he goes on about all this storytelling and realism stuff but then throws in "well with this type of movie people expect the action to be as over the top as you can make it..." and then explains basically why the action is actually going to be not realistic at all :woot: Not that I'm complaining because I love the fantasy element and if Batman had to be all plausable all the time, what would be the point of watching it? He'd just get shot with some automatic weapons and that would be that.

Epic fail on their part.

Well remember what Gordan said about escalation
yeah It makes much more sence that the villains also force batman to evolve thats why he gets a new suit and ride cause I'm guesing Joker not only blows up the Tumbler but also forces Bat's to change his suit so this is also in line with the end of Batman Begins and really why worry bout it BB was the first year if not month as batman most of the stuff he has is prototypes or rough drafts I'm sure by the end of the 3rd movie will we get the new batmobile the new batcave and probably a new suit that looks more like the comic suit to show that batman has become the God Damn Batman :hehe:
