The Dark Knight Capes and Cowls - New Batsuit Discussion Thread

The cape looked to be draped over his shoulder in one shot at the end where he's talking to Dent before he gets shot. I may have imagined it.

It was draped over his shoulders at the end and flowed pretty nicely in some scenes.

I thought "sonar vision" was a bit too futuristic and out-of-place in Nolan-verse. I know it's a nod to Crisis and OMAC in the comics but to be able to control all of Gotham's cell phones, PDAs, etc. in order to pinpoint one guy. :|

It was very badass though, kind of like Deja Vu's time machine.

I thought the cape being behind him altered his look entirely. I very much missed the flowing cape.

That was the only problem I had with the suit. The cape was perfect on the begins suit because he could use it too cover his entire body and shroud himself which was very faithful to the comics. And then on that new suit he didn't once have himself fully encompassed by his cape and it kinda wan't as batmanish. Oh well I gues it looks more knightly and fits with the overall story.

I thought the lenses looked pretty cool in the movie. The slid away and came back just how I imagined they would. Now they just need to be used for typical night vision as well.

Night vision, infrared, and when he is tearing around the city at 100 mph on the batpod blowing everything in the entire universe up in front of him. Will somebody please tell me how he managed to avoid getting debree in his eyes or even keeping them open with that kind of wind?

Love the way the suit looked, and the lenses were badass.:brucebat: I think there was a collective "I told you so" in the minds of the people who supported it after they finished watching the movie.

Suit looked great sometimes, and horrible other times. I think it worked best in the darker scenes. In some of the brighter scenes, like when Batman was in the cell with Joker, it just looked downright goofy and rubbery. In the dark scenes it looks more menacing and more like hard armor. All in all It's was pretty cool. Lenses ended up looking pretty great after all too.

was the cowl on the old suit different? It seemed different to me

the new suit was awesome and the Lenses were so badass in the film.

I also thought that the Begins suit looked fantastic in the opening fight sequence with scarecrow and how he was kicking everyone's ass.

I knew these people would start loving the lenses once they saw them on film. I think most of you guys just love being stubborn and be right, as fanboy mannerism dictates or most were just worried of how it would look after all this time of having no lenses. That said, they looked badass and thank god because i was worried when i saw that YT screenshot. I still don't like the suit, looks really rubbery this time around, doesn't look very solid at all and i'm sick of the huge eye holes with that thick border, too curvy for a helmet/cowl that's supposed to be creature like and scare. None the less, the movie was badass, lenses rocked and i wish they had one stable shot of him where we could see them clearly.

His suit sucks. It looks too sci-fi. thats why keaton will always be the best Batman.

we can satisfy everyone. face the fact. but we can accept feedbacks.
to me, the sonar eyes is great and i love it! i am glad nolan are able to pull it off to show some reference to the comics and the animated series for the white. on the suit, i still feel it's too complicated and "crowded" and it's not smooth. it's basically the BEST batman movies out there and it beats all the movies before including batman 89 and batman returns. as for the costume, maybe burton's batman returns version is nicer. but i am not complaining. i'm going to watch it the 3rd time tomorrow!

Here is my little tribute to all the bats!!! hope you people like it!:cwink:

^ Nice. It's trippy going from top left immediately to bottom right.

Why two Wests when it's the same costume?
Those are not exactly the same Adam west batsuit!! The first one (3rd from left) is the very first costume for the TV series (1966) and the second one (4th from left) is from the Adam west batman movie (1966). And if you look closely you will find a Slight difference between these two costumes… the cape joint under the neck (above the chest) is different… the first one didn’t have the oval flowery joint like the second one!!!:cwink:

The new suit worked just fine in TDK, but the cowl was still pretty silly looking in some scenes. I'm still a fan of the Keaton suits and the Forever panther suit. I guess I still prefer my Batman to be a bit more comic-bookish.

After going to see this amazing film last night, TDK suit is by far my favorite batsuit.

as I predicted
the suit looked good in the dark

the lenses from what little we saw of them wernt good or bad

It isn't just how it hung. It didn't billow as much. I missed that.

I was right about the new suit 100% I knew they would cast it in shadows most of the time, and I loved it, you hardly saw the legs at all, I feel this suit was perfect for the film!

So do I but I thought this suit was fantastic. Before I saw the film I gave the suit a rating of about 7/10. Now it's gone up to 9/10. I really liked it and is probably my favorite batsuit on screen yet.

The Begins suit was very so-so in this movie. I liked how it looked in the Scarecrow/van scene but it looked very stiff and rather bad in the rooftop scene...especially the neck. This new suit is a huge improvement. My only regret is that we could have gotten a scene where Bat's cape is draped.

TDK suit
BR suit
BF panther suit

Those are my three favorite.
