Took the same image, put a translucent grey mesh over it. I think it makes him looks less like a black blob, but since you can see some detail and structure underneath it you get less of that undefined "Adam West effect".

Can't see it.

Im glad some people agree with me, and Crook your telling me it cant drape completly over his front side? If he used his arms to hold it in front like he did a few times in Begins, it would exactly the way it should, only showing the bat symbol visibly.

I still like the BB suit more. something about the new cowl i just dont like

Yes, it can drape like this:

But not like this:

In all the Batman movie suits, he'd have to hold his cape together to achieve that look, and even then it wouldn't be totally right because his chest emblem is still in view.

I remember when this cellphone shot came out and was dismissed as being a stunt suit (because the legs were so bad) and probably not even Bale.

Good times.

Begins suit rocks, that above picture alone proves it, end of story! Everytime i see his first appearance in TDK in that garage scene, it looks so beastial and perfect for him, sucks the new suit didn't retain that.

Thought he looked very bulky and restrained in the opening scene of TDK, loved the new suit as it appeared in the movie, don't really care about the bd publicity-shots anymore, just keep it as is in the new movie! (though he may need some more protection from gunshots?)

I like the way the new suit looks like bits of armour. It fits in nicely with the "Dark Knight" theme of the film.

It certainly isn't perfect. All the suits have their flaws:

B89: Mask too thick. Too heavy so Keaton could barely move. Cowl couldn't move.

B Returns: Cowl couldn't move. Overall, not bad though. Don't like the massive bat symbol too.

Batman Forever: More streamlined but too much muscle definition and nipples (!). Belt is overkill with symbol

B & R: Similar to BF but better because the chest symbol is not yellow. Still too plastic looking.

BB: A bit too bulky but the best after a long series.

TDK: Too complex/robot looking but the most maneuverable of the suits.

Overall, I like the BB, TDK and Batman Returns suit.

That kinda was the purpose of the BB suit, to protect. By using the new suit, he only gains more mobility but decreases his protection very much so. Couldn't they just have the neck from the new suit with the joints as well on the BB suit? I loved the new suit once i saw the first picture of it, but now i'm looking the other way. BB owns the robo-bat suit, except when he had the lenses that was gold! :wow:

He was practically indestructible in BB b/c of the suit his speed and ninja skills amplified by the fact that he took out 4 skilled ninjas. They kind of have to weaken him to make it more believable that those not skilled in martial arts (ie. Joker) can actually match Batman physically. Best way to do that is by making the new suit have "separation of the plates which makes you more vulnerable to knives and gunfire."

Remember when the first publicity picture came out and it pointed out the different aspects of the suit? There was one part that said the cape had a new function and would be revealed in the movie. Do you guys know what it was supposed to be? There was nothing amazing except popping out like a parachute when Batman jumped off the building.

there was that little back pack thats the cape folded up in, and i hear they wanted that because they were wondering if Batman is on the Batpod won't his cape get stuck in the wheel.

But i never saw him with the cape in the backpack when he was on the batpod.

his cape was shorter too

BATMAN BEGINS

While I loved the batsuit from Begins, The new one in The Dark Knight was awesome . for one thing I loved that Bale as Batman could actually turn his head without having to move his shoulders like the previous live action Batmen . I also loved The sonar lenses for two reason

1. It was a wonderful nod to The comic book Batman appearance & BTAS (Batman : The animated Series ) with the white lenses .

2. An actual Bat has a type of night vision that's like sonar that helps them see at night . so I like that Nolan & Company who has made both BB & TDK in a realistic fashion . Took the real concept and applied it to Batman on film . Something Batman Forever failed to do .

THE DARK KNIGHT

Bruce: No, to shut some fanboys up who only know how to nitpick. Also, slant my white lenses down, so I can look like my cartoon counterpart.

Ya know what? In my lifetime I've given Warner Brothers and DC Comics thousands of dollars for Batman-related merchandise. I think that I and the hundreds of thousands of other "fanboys" who more or less footed some of the bill on these movies can be allowed to nitpick on a message board. We earned it. :cwink:

So that was it? Just the little back pack?

Haha, I remember when that comment about the cape's new function was made. Piles of people were saying "I bet the cape can camouflage!" I found that incredibly hilarious; apparently more faithful armour is "unrealistic," but magic inviso-capes are A-OK.

Did you see it do anything else?

What sums up the two suits of BB and TDK for me, is that the BB-suit looked great in most publicity-shots, but kinda ridiculous in some scenes of the movie (that close-up in the bank-vault in TDK had people in the audience laughing) while the TDK-suit on the other hand looks dumb in some publicity-shots while really good in most scenes in the movie.
