Casey Affleck is my favorite Riddler choice i've heard.... I remember after begins I wanted Joaquin as harvey......... Billy Crudup was my 2nd choice, Eckhart was great though, I just hadn't seen him in anything before he was cast... I saw thank you for smoking after he was announced though...

Seriously, some of you people have the most uninspired/just plain ******ed ideas for the next movie title.

Gotham City/Gotham: ...Seriously? That'd be like naming the next Superman movie "Metropolis" or naming the next Spidey/Fantastic Four/Daredevil movie "New York... with Superheroes." I'll literally EAT my copy of The Dark Knight if we got either of these lame, unimaginative suggestions as a title.

Anything with "Knight" in it that isn't "Knightfall": Seriously, we've been there, done that. As far as further referencing the comics goes, the only two feasible titles we may see with the word "Knight" in it are Knightfall or the ever so uninspired The Dark Knight Returns, the latter of which being the least likely based on the fact that mainstreamers would confuse it with the TDKR novel and people may complain it's too similar to Batman Returns. We've already had The Dark Knight and Batman: Gotham Knight. Put a fork in it.

The Batman/Caped Crusader/<insert random nickname for Batman here>: Though another nickname for Bats as the next title isn't entirely unlikely, I doubt Chris Nolan would do it for the fact that he's already done it once. Secondly, The Dark Knight is about as cool as it gets when it comes to Batman's nicknames. The Caped Crusader is yawn-worthy next to The Dark Knight and seriously: "The Batman" would be downright ******ed.

Shadow of the Dawn: ...Completely ******ed, but better than anything above for the mere fact that it's the least bit original. Still, a ******ed variant of the superior (and only decent sounding speculated title thus far), Shadow of the Bat.


If we're to assume the next film is to be named after some random moment in Batman comic history, there are plenty of good ones to choose from. Knightfall, Shadow of the Bat, Batman: Dark Victory, The Dark Knight Returns/Strikes Again, Journey into Knight etc. etc. etc.

I have no ideas for a title. I do think a reference to Batman needs to be in the title, but I also have a hard time thinking of something fresh. I think The Long Halloween is a great stand-alone title, but the chances of the next film borrowing one of the graphic novel's key story-arcs is probably slim, at best. But it does sound cool.

I have a feeling the next film will showcase a hunt for the Batman that involves the GPD, FBI, mobsters, and bountyhunters. So when I saw another poster suggest "Kill The Batman", I kind of liked it.

Here's my cast based on characters I think could fit in the third chapter:
