First Avenger Cast the Invaders

I just don't want another Wolverine Origins mess, and I don't want too many characters crowding out Cap or making him look less important or unique.
But again, the Invaders could help show how Cap inspires the world over.

I am interested in seeing what they do.

Keep in mind, Fox has absolutely nothing to do with this.:cwink:

yea hopefully it will work better then the crap fox did with wolverine.

Spain was a Fascist country during WW2. They did not formally side with Germany, but they were certainly not with the allies either.

Well, someone suggested having a German in the Invaders too.

It wouldn't be the worst thing to have some one from a non-allied country break away from their country's position during the war to help the Invaders in the film.

I think that might be a bit offensive to the survivors of World War II for the same reason we don't let people who served in different armies march on Rememberance Day.

It's important to be historically sensitive when you make a film like Captain America. It can't be just a big dumb action blockbuster because you are talking about an event in history where millions of people suffered and died.

During WWII there were people all over acting against their non-allied governments. Even in Germany, there were Germans who went against their government and acted as spies or helped the "enemies."
(According to a history teacher I head in High School, since I wasn't there)
So it would be perfectly natural and not offensive to show Germans and other Non-allied people breaking away from their governments to help the Allied Forces.
In fact it would be sort of historically accurate and maybe offensive to say that all Germans were Nazis during WWII.

And considering there would be super-powered men in the movie, I think some things would change in history if they actually existed during the war time.

I am a little worried about this too, but the idea of Marvel dealing with this and not Fox, makes me sleep well at night.

I think we may see snippets of them like we saw the original Watchmen in the Watchmen. News clippings, photos, news reel images...

I hope that we don't get to meet the Invaders... just maybe hear about them and see photos etc..

well with joe's comments saying they would be a part of the second half of the movie it will probably be more then just pictures/new reels.

I think Namor is waaaay too big to introduce in a Cap film.

Why not? He doesn't have to have a speaking part...just appear with the team. And if a Namor movie eventually gets made, well that original cameo will just help to solidify the continuity that Marvel Entertainment is obviously looking to establish...

That's like saying Thor can show up as a cameo in Iron Man and not have any speaking lines and it would work fine.

Namor is completely different from anything the Marvel film universe has introduced so far and he stands out like a sore thumb among the characters in the films. He needs a film to introduce him in a believable way just like Thor does.

Captain America-Ryan Mcpartlin
Bucky-Thomas Dekker
Namor-Eric Bana
Human Torch-Matthew Goode
Union Jack-Tom Hardy

Namor hardly has the fan base Thor has, but even if he did, again i say; so what? Why WOULDN'T it "work fine"?

I think it would certainly hype the fans up to see a Namor movie. The fact that Namor IS, in fact, a unique character would not only stoke the fans, but make the general audience want to see more of him...

What does the fanbase has to do with this? I'm talking about the fact that Namor is completely different from all the other heroes set up in the films. To have science based heroes like Hulk and Cap or tech based like Iron Man and then randomly have a cameo from the lord of Atlantis would just leave audiences scratching their heads. They're making a Thor movie to introduce the character because they know he's way too different from what was already established. He's the god of thunder and he's definitely going to raise questions if he pops up in a film about a super soldier or man wearing a tech suit. To have him show up in a cameo would not fit with the tone of the film. They're not going to introduce Namor in a cameo for that very same reason. I can absolutely guarantee it.

Who says he has to be introduced as "The Lord of Atlantis"? A visual cameo with maybe a few lines is all that's nescessary in a film that's apparently going to feature several superheroes. Do you really think Johnson is going to establish each Invaders background? And even if he did, again i say; so what?

You're telling me that the audience is potentially going to be ok with the likes of the android Human Torch, Toro, and Spitfire, characters that can burst into flame and fly, and one with superspeed...but a water breathing merman, well hey; that's just TOO crazy.

Please. :whatever:

That type of "the audience has to be spoon-fed every little detail" mentality drives me nuts.

At this point, a Namor movie can't even get out of the talking stages. Marvel now has an opportunity to create a bit of buzz for the character and potentially get another one of their characters started in a movie franchise. i say go for it.

We don't even know what the other Invaders will be. More people speculate they'll just be soldiers then guys with powers because most people feel having too many super powered heroes running around will take too much focus off Captain America.

And yes, the audience does have to be spoon-fed every detail, which is why Marvel is taking it's time with introducing most of it's elements into the Marvel film Universe. Comic fans need to realize the general audience doesn't accept things as readily as they do. This is why Thor is being introduced in his own movie and they're even introducing some science into his origins instead of straight up magic. Namor is not going to be in this movie. I even doubt super powered Invaders are going to be in this movie.

Well, we'll have to wait and see. :yay:
