First Avenger Cast the Invaders

wearing body armor, carrying lots of weapons, a Union Jack on his chest. Not really a costume.

I think they could give these guys costumes and still make them specialists. The costumes could just be a way to jump on the Captain America bandwagon after he makes the idea of costumed super heroes popular and seem inspiring instead of just goofy. If America has it's own representative hero, Britain or Russia might want one as well. Every country would then have one of their best soldiers dress up in a costume and fight alongside with Captain America against the Nazis in a super hero team known as the Invaders just because it makes for good propaganda. The soldiers could even think the idea is stupid and feel ridiculous wearing a costume for PR's sake.

I'm excited especially after watching Smallville JSA and seeing costumes not look dorky. I'm hoping for FULL Invaders, powers, costumes, and all. The idea of giving each character an Allied nation origin is sound too.

As for actors, I don't care as long as it doesn't effect the CGI budget. I want GI JOE type non-stop action the kind that blows your mind, like Transporter action! Definitly not FF (FOX) crappy 3 second power clips.

So, does FOX automatically get the rights to Namor because they own the movie rights to Fantastic Four?

I seem to remember Universal planning a Sub-Mariner movie years ago...

Regardless; maybe Marvel has the rights to the Golden Age version of the character, as the article states. I hope so. I'd REALLY love to see Torch, Toro, Namor, Bucky, Union Jack, and Spitfire all up on the silver screen with Cap.

"Ok, Axis...here we come!" :word:

Fox never had the rights to Namor, Universal did and was trying to get a movie going shortly after the first Hellboy came out, but nothing happened. Since Universal was nice enough to let Marvel have the Hulk back, perhaps they will do the same with Namor.

I think Namor is waaaay too big to introduce in a Cap film. It would be like introducing Thor halfway through Iron Man 2.

I was just thinking adding other costumed characters, without or without powers, might detract from the focus and uniqueness of Captain America.
But
Your idea is really good too.
The Invaders could be used to show how Captain America isn't just a guy in a red white and blue costume. He inspires everyone all over during the war. He isn't just a great soldier, but a great inspiration. And when he is frozen and everyone thinks he is dead its a big deal and when he is thawed out its a bigger deal. And when he is fighting in modern times its amazing.

The Invaders:

Union Jack - United Kingdom.
Spitfire - Germany.
Destroyer - Russia.
Silver Scorpion - China.
Black Marvel - Africa.
Captain America - America.

Ewan McGregor as Union Jack and Masi Oka as Silver Scorpion :hehe:

Maybe the Silver Scorpion could be from Russia and she could be a spiritual predecessor to the Black Widow.

Blue Bullet could be like an old fashioned Iron Man-like member but he may be a bit too out there depending on what they're going for. Him being a Polish Jew could be interesting in a film though.

Union Jack- Jason Stathom
Namor- Luke Goss
Spitfire- Rosamund Pike
John Hammond- Armie Hammer

Interesting, but it's been six months since and still not a damn thing. I don't think Universal will move forward creatively unless it is in line with what Marvel is doing, so that Universal can borrow some more notable Marvel characters. Maybe get the origin out of the way in the first half should they do it, but in the second half, see if you can tie him into the Invaders depending on where First Avenger leaves off. Maybe as sequel or prequel to First Avenger, with Namor replacing Cap.
