Cast The Justice League

TheScarecrow, that's a great cast, especially Scott Speedman as Aquaman.
I'd have never thought of that but it could work.

Superman - Brandon Routh
Batman - Christian Bale
Wonder Woman - Jenniffer Connelly
The Flash - Ryan Reynolds
Green Lantern - Wes Bently
Aquaman - Scott Speedman
Martian Manhunter - Dominic Purcell
Black Canary - Melissa George

I like most of ur choices but jenniffer connely is ancient

Great choices for Maxwell Lord and John Stewart. Paul Walker as Aquaman? I'd rather have someone who can act.

OK... since they're recasting I'll do mine for the big four:

Superman: Henry Cavill

Batman: Eion Bailey

this cast can probably work now, given that the JLA movie would most likely be CG/MoCap, they can tweak the hell out of imperfections (too old, too short and so on)

I don't know about any of the other roles, but I'd definitely cast Michael Keaton as Batman if they went the CGI route.

Come to think of it, they can prolly get away with that, while following up with a JL sequel (if it's successful enough) or standalone films in live-action.

Just make the character likenesses similar to the actors playing the roles, so the transition from cgi to live-action is seamless, in terms of appearances.

It'd be sweet as hell if they could get the cgi to match this type of technical quality:

We could get all our favorite actors for the part, but improved since the cgi will fix any imperfections. Then they can continue with the cgi, or move to live-action if the demand is high. There won't be much to change considering everyone has been cast accordingly (by their looks) already.

Personally I dont think it needs to be as life-like as Beowulf looks. If they're going CGI, no point in trying to make it look real. I saw Stardust the other day, and when the Beowulf trailer came on I overherad someone wondering why the hell they didn't just film it.

Since it's CGI, take this opportunity to give Batman spandex and white slits for eyes, things that look terrible in live action. You can also make the characters look exactly like they're supposed to without worrying about whether the actor looks the part. Wonder Woman can be totally hot AND played by a good actress.

Well it's an artistic choice. They didn't just choose cgi for the hell of it. It's to better match the old-style paintings of the story, and going cgi literally brings these images to life.

Sure, 300 had the same idea, but the live-action elements do ruin the "painting" aspect. It could be the same deal for JL, bringing the comic book pages to life. It's possible to do it for real, but the images found in these books would require an immense budget.

They could even model the CG characters after Alex Ross' designs, or after the old fashioned art style, or even still, make them look like Brandon Routh and Christian Bale. (as long as the CG is tweaked by the animators to be more life like and fluid, like King Kong or Gollum.)

Now that the JLA movie is going to be CG animated, as it stands right now,
I say they should cast people with distinctive voices, maybe even mostly voice actors.
(something like Incredibles, or the early days of Disney, who casted only voice actors or actors with the right voice for the part. and not actors just for their name.)
I do think though it might be good to have Christian Bale and Brandon Routh as Batman and Superman in the movie,
doing that might put it more in continuity with the movies and distance it from the cartoon shows.

Yes! I love the idea of doing things that wouldn't work in a live action movie working in a CGI film. A big screen Batman that looks like the actual, comic book Batman would be fantastic. Same goes for all the other characters.

I'd rather they stray away from Ross's designs.

Thank you :o

My choices for The League and why:

SUPERMAN-Tom Welling: It makes sense, he's been playing the role of Clark Kent on Smallville for 6 years, so he would know the role better than anyone else, and rumor has it the WB has approached him about playing Superman in the JLA movie.
BATMAN-Josh Jackson: Now here me out on this one, if you go to the Yahoo movies section and find the preview page for Batman Begins you'll see that he was the second-most popular choice for the role albeit a distant second to Bale. I see him as a good choice for the JLA Batman, which will probably be more like the Micheal Keaton Batman and not the dark and gritty Batman which Bale plays now.
WONDER WOMAN-Taylor Cole: I saw her on a episode of Supernatural and I thouhgt she was pretty good-looking, and she looked like she could hold her own in a fight, so she would be my choice for Wonder Woman.
THE FLASH-Ryan Reynolds- I know the script has the Barry Allen version of the Flash, but it could get changed. If they evantually change to the Wally West version, Reynolds would be perfect for the role and could provide audiences with some pretty good one-liners to make them laugh.

I can't think of any people off the top of my head who could play Lantern, J'onn or Aquaman, but I'm sure I'll think of them sometime.

Scarecrow, you have a good cast. I can espically see Speedman as Arthur.

In The JLA Movie They Should Put Low Level Celebs For The JLA, If They Put Brandon Routh and Christian Bale, People Will See If For Them. They Should Put Low Levels In JLA So The Low Level Actors Can be Come A-levels.

The JLA movie series and the solo film franchises do not have to have the same actors (although it would be really nice). I see this 'reality' more like the comics.

The JLA comics and the individual character titles have different artists, and so they are interpreted uniquely. Their faces look somewhat different, however you are able to identify each character based on their costumes and their personalities.

I really feel that this JLA movie (and possible sequels) should be filled with relative unknowns (with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions)!! When creating an ensemble group of actors, it is really important casting individuals that will relate will to each other on screen. I also feel that the height of the actors plays a major part in casting...more so than their solo films.

The individual solo film franchises can carry the "slightly more A-List" actors.

In keeping with that theme, here is my cast choice for the JLA movie...

jlacastij0.jpg

Superman…Tom Welling
Birthday: 4.26.77…Height: 6’ 3”

Batman…Michael Fassbender
Birthday: 4.2.77…Height: 6’

Wonder Woman…Megan Gale
Birthday: 8.7.75…Height: 5’ 10”

Flash…Henry Cavill
Birthday: 5.5.83…Height: 6’ 1”

Green Lantern…Rob Brown
Birthday: 3.11.84…Height: 6’ 1”

And for the solo films, I would pick Ryan Reynolds for Flash and Morris Chestnut for Green Lantern (if it's John Stewart). For Hal Jordon...Nathan Fillion. For Wonder Woman, I'm still waiting for the perfect female actress, however, Taylor Cole would fit the bill right now!!!
