Cast the MCU X-Men/Fantastic Four

I'd be estastic if I got a black storm for once

Good Lord those two are gorgeous.

robert downey jr is like 5'7 and stark is supposed to be like 6'3

who really cares about it, in all honesty.

A box to stand on is much cheaper and easier than shrinking someone down with special effects.

Can you imagine shrinking Hugh Jackman for 6+ movies? The action scene filming would be a nightmare.

2 inches taller, not a big deal

But his height has to be relative to everyone else in the MCU, not just to what his comics height is.

If everyone were their comic height, then yes, 2 inches isn't a big deal. But the much taller powerhouses in the comics are only coming in at about 6'3" in the MCU, so you have to scale down others accordingly.

I guess I just don't see the big deal

its not like we're comparing Yao Ming and Verne Troyer

You know what’s easier?

Letting Scott be 6’5

I still want Garret Hedlund for Johnny:

If you want to eventually cast an actor for a role like Gladiator, then if you've already got someone like Armie Hammer at 6'5" as Cyclops, what are you going to do? Find someone even taller? Or have Gladiator stand on a box and Cyclops in a ditch if the actor as Gladiator is much shorter?

And are you going to avoid wide angled full body shots too?

It's better to cast people closer to the accurate height in the first place than having to later try to fix everything with tricks or CGI.

You know what’s easier?

Letting Scott be 6’5

Or cast someone else.

I don't get the Armie Hammer love.

He's okay playing boring stiffs but there are better choices out there.

Plus Cyclops towering over all the X-men would look stupid. He's not the muscle of the team like Colossus or Warpath giving fastball specials.

Height.

The great non-argument.

I've thought about Franco for Reed as well. I wouldn't be opposed to it but I'm not sure how likely it is.

If it were to happen, it'd be all the more reason to get Rogen to play Thing.

I really can't see Franco as Reed. He really wasn't a convincing scientist in Apes imo.

Franco might be up to some acting awards this season, so, as usual, MS will get in contact with him for a role anyway in a week or so

He's very idiosyncratic nowadays. The Disaster Artist is hilarious by the way and he's great, but that kind of thing is what interests him more than event films, at least in the traditional sense. He did them with Spider-Man, but I think the reason he wants/wanted (post-deal) to do Multiple Man is to do something really odd with the superhero genre, kind of like The Disaster Artist. I think he will have less interest in doing another straight ahead superhero movie again after the Spidey films.

I actually forgot he was in the Raimi movies

Franco very visibly checked out of Spider-Man as soon as he shows up in N.2.

I don't see Franco as Reed. He is a talented actor, but he would not be my 1st choice.

Armie works so much better for Scott than pretty much any of the other superheroes hes suggested for.

Are you guys up for Channing Tatum as MCU Gambit or should they get someone with zero ties to the Foxmen movies?

I could see him staying on. His movie never got out of the development stage before this deal, and I think he's a good choice for the role.

I just don't want to see another Jennifer Lawrence/Mystique situation with Channing Tatum/Gambit where they beef up the character more than is necessary just because it's a big actor.

Wasn't Garrett Hedlund one of the candidates for Captain America back in 2011?
