The Dark Knight Rises Casting Call (All Villains)

Why not? He's a more than solid actor with a perfect look for the part.

BB and TDK set the standards too high for some semi-decent run of the mill TV actor.

C'mon Johnny Drama. You of all people shouldn't be knocking tv actors. Get those calf implants yet bro?

Lewis is more than a run of the mill TV actor. Check him out in The Escapist or The Forsye Saga to see what an evil bastard he can play.

I am sure he has a limited bit of talent, but can he stand out amongst the likes of Bale and the rest? Can he be an adequate follow up to Ledgers Joker? I doubt it.

And further more, is his name known well enough to garner a large audience? The Joker is The Joker, Ledger or not, but The Riddler is not as iconic and would need an epic actor in his shoes if he is to be taken seriously.

I agree that he probably has no chance of even being considered for the role, but he definitely has the chops to pull it off. I'd say that he's just as talented as Cillian Murphy.

And maybe he is, but you follow Cillian Murphy with a Heath Ledger, you don't follow Heath Ledger with a Cillian Murphy.

Says who? A fanboy throwing around movie elitism like he's freakin' super agent Ari Gold? Gimme a break. You cast the best actor for the role. Lewis was phenomenal in Band of Brothers and he definitely has the acting chops. That's not to say he's the best fit, but to dismiss him just b/c he doesn't have the star power is about as ridiculous as getting calf implants.

yeah I could see him in the role as the Riddler, and truth be told, people really weren't that excited until they actually saw footage of the Joker, but before they hated the casting of Ledger as the Joker, so who knows Lewis could hit a home run, and be way better than anyone expected.

Can you please just shut up now?
The men are talking, run along.

P-P-P-PWNED!

I don't think I can take anyone seriously who uses "And he's from the UK." as a strong point for an actor.

Long story short, The Riddler is rarely taken as seriously as The Joker is, and will need a legitimate, recognizable actor to fill his shoes should he appear in the next film. My money is 100% on DiCaprio. Before him, I was hoping for Don Cheadle, up until he signed on for Iron Man 2.

Right now, Leo is my #1 choice, Andy Serkis is my #2.

I wouldn't mind Leo and it seems like a better bet than most since Nolan likes working with the same actors multiple times.

That Bettany guy would do well as the Riddler.

Let's keep it civil guys.

yes definitely
Joseph_Gordon_Levitt___Joker_by_callmemilo.jpg

the resemblance between Levitt and Ledger is just eerie.

I suppose if Nolan is really intent on bringing back the Joker, and wants to keep the look of the Joker as similar as possible to Heath's, using Levitt would be the logical option to ensure the general audience is less confused in the Joker's facial change.

Although, some might say it would be insulting to Levitt for only being chosen because he happens to look like Heath, although personally I believe not only does he look eerily like Heath, he also has some decent acting chops, and has been acting for a very long time.

The manip, its Spooky!

Yea but Freeze should be subtly fuming, underneath the surface. The only thing i've seen Englund do is Freddy Kruger, hamming it up n that.

People underestimate Englund. He is a great actor.
It takes real talent to take a character in script form and turn him into an evil son of a *****.

I would love it if Englund got a crack at someone like Mr Freeze.
Would be perfect for the Nolan Verse version.

Englund is a legend, its not his fault his amazing portrayal of a sick killer has sort of type casted him.

Something like a villianous role in this movie would be great.
Robert Englund rules!!:woot:

Michael C. Hall = The Riddler.

I think this is my tenth post where i say this.

And it's the tenth time you've brought up a terrible suggestion.:down

Not that I want this character in a Batman film but,

Micheal Emerson for the Hatter

I think Hatter could be adapted to Nolans universe. Have him sorta like the Shredder from TMNT 1990. Manipulating children into commiting crimes for him and what not. He could still have his Alice in Wonderland motif, that would be pretty creepy actually.

But if there is to be Mad Hatter Andy Serkis gets my vote.

Andy Serkis definitely needs to work with Nolan again. He'd make a good Mad Hatter, Penguin or Riddler.

Here's what I don't get, when The Dark Knight came out and the issue of Coleman Reese was raised I heard one sentiment amongst a large number of forumers:
Reese was annoying, I wanted to kill him.
Now, I aksed this question once and never got a satisfactory answer. Was this dislike because of good acting or very, very bad acting?
Because if he acted the part well and you hated him, doesn't that show how talented Joshua Harto was? Wouldn't you then agree that he would be a great Riddler? As the character is meant to be an obnoxious little twerp?
I just don't get where people are coming from when they voice their hatred of the Reese character.

Reese isn't THe Riddler.

"Inception" is a code name for the next Batman movie, just like "Rorys First Kiss" was codename for TDK. Leo DiCaprio and Marion Cotilliard are The Riddler and Catwoman.

J/K

I'm not saying he is!
I'm just asking why people are so against the idea? Did Joshua Harto do a bad job? That's what I'm asking. Maybe that's why people hate his character so much.
