The Dark Knight Rises Casting Call (All Villains)

What about Bradley Whitford for the Riddler?

Holy LORD thats a big picture of Robin Williams. I could see him as the Riddler more than the Penguin. But really, what about Whitford for Riddler?

Crap, sorry about that. Didn't know it would turn out to be huge.

I'd have to say that Adrien brody would the perfect choice for Joker not just becuase he looks like (and he does look like him) also becuase he play the part perfectly. Watch the movie "Oxygen" and you will see a identical Joker behaviour. Brody would also have a very good voice for Joker including the Laugh. Aparently here is a pretty good adress to the trailer for "Oxygen" but again one has to see it to get a better idea of Brody for Joker.

Meh, I still don't see what Nolan apparently sees in him. True, I haven't seen him act, but then again, I don't think most of his supporters have and are just pushing him because Nolan wants him. He's got a long nose and somewhat intimidating eyes, but that's all I really see in him. He just doesn't scream Joker to me at all. He looks nothing like he should The Joker should look. I'd be very disappointed if he was casted, though I'd still see the movie.

Really, I don't see a problem with people agreeing with Nolan. I have faith in who he picks. I mean, Batman Begins was perfectly cast. Did any of us know Brit Tom Wilkinson could be a convincing gangster? Did any of us know almost anything about Cillian Murphy's mad skill? Not really.

It was Nolan's apparent support of Hulme that led me to rent Four Jacks. I gotta say, Hulme didn't disappoint. I honestly believe Lachy Hulme has the perfect portrayal of the Joker in him.

So, really, it'd be cool if more people from the boards knew what Hulme can do, but I think the fact that Nolan supports him is enough, and it should be enough. Nolan knows what he's doing.

I disagree with Begins being perfectly cast. Sure, Bale, Caine, Freeman, Neeson and especially Oldman were all perfect for the parts. But Holmes sucked, she was completely unconvincing in a role that should've gone to another, older actress or completley written out and replaced with Harvey Dent (I'd have preferred the latter). Wilkinson as Falcone felt somewhat off as well. He's a fantastic actor, I won't doubt that, but he didn't give off the right vibe for Falcone IMO. And I hated his accent (thouh the line "he begged...like a dog" was awesome). As for Murphy, well, I think there are actors who could've done just a good a job with the role as him, but I definitely feel that he really hit it out of the park and created a genuinely great villiain in The Scarecrow.

Hulme, he doesn't say Joker to me. From what I've seen, he doesn't give off the right vibe at all. He's too physically impsoing (Joker should be thin, not muscular), his face is all wrong (save for the nose) and he really doesn't have an impressive body of work.

They probably threw Holmes in just so it wouldn't be a sausage-fest. Which isn't bad, but they could've used someone else in my opinion. I agree with just about everything you said except for the Wilkinson bit, who I thought made a great Falcone. And I know you're not dissing him as an actor, you just don't think he was perfect for the part, which is cool. But I liked him. Although, (and I've been looking for a place to post this, and even here isn't the perfect place, but I need to get it off my back) I think the character of Falcone is insecure in the movie. At the very end of the restaraunt scene, after his guards smack Bruce around, he kind of looks around him, with a face that almost says "Yeah, you guys like that? Anybody think I'm scary? Huh?" I don't know, maybe its just me, Wilkinson might have just done that, maybe it wasn't in the script. But it came of as insecure to me.

I belive Nolan said he wrote the character with her in mind - she was his number one.

Really? An interesting little tidbit. I always thought it would be funny if they came out with an Iron Man vs. Batman comic, since Katie Holmes is with Tom Cruise who was supposedly going to play Tony Stark in the Iron Man movie that didn't come out, and since she was with Bale in Begins. Not to say that Tony and Bruce would be fighting over Katie Holmes in the comic or something, I just thought it would be ironic. Plus, they're both millionaire playboys with alter-egos. It could work. Even if this irony wasn't there, I still wouldn't mind seeing, er, reading a comic like that.

Rupert Thorne - Albert Finney (Big Fish)
Oswald Cobblepot / Penguin - Timothy Spall (The Last Samurai)

Selina Kyle / Catwoman - Scarlett Johansson (Match Point)

Ed Nygma / Riddler - Peter Sarsgaard (Flight Plan)

Bane - Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson (The Rundown)

Talia Head - Keira Knightley (Pride and Prejudice)

Det. Sarah Essen - Virginia Madsen (Sideways)
Det. Harvey Bullock - Ray Winstone (King Arthur)
Det. Renne Montoya - Roselyn Sanchez (Rush Hour 2)

Vicki Vale - Kate Winslet (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind)

^^^^^Thats pretty good casting. I think Scarlett is a little too young for Catwoman and The Rock isnt evil enough for Bane. All his roles have that tone of a PG-rated Arnold character who is a BA always looking after the little guy type a thing. Definately like your ganster casting. :)

I agree, 30 year old Batman in love with 21 year old Selina

Scarlett really doesn't look that young, plus she just exudes sexuality and maturity. Watch Match Point.

I see her as Babara Gordon/Batgirl and that's like Babara in love with Bruce and it's WRONG

GOD
Robin Williams

:D

I could see Robin hamming up Penguin too much. Besides, Robin Williams has played three great people: Popeye, Peter Pan, and soon-to-be Theodore Roosevelt.

I'm rooting for Bob Hoskins. :venom:
