The Dark Knight Rises Casting Call (All Villains)

In most of his roles Depp usually goes very campy. I know he can do more but I'd rather someone else do it to avoid that happening under any circumstance.

A really underrated Depp performance was "the man with no eyes" in Once upon a time in Mexico. yea i know the film wasn't exactly brilliant, but Johnny was really quite menacing in that, but in a funny sorta way. the way he was just so blase about killing people. who can forget the scene where he eats his chili pork and just casually strolls into the kitchen and shoots the chef! brilliant, just brilliant.

Really? So you'd complain less if Zane was cast as Sionis than Depp as Riddler? And let's not even start about Scott as Selina.

Indeed; Zane's not too much of a bad actor and if he ever came in the series (which I doubt) I wouldn't complain too much if Nolan set him in the right direction. However............. *sigh* I don't even wanna hear that man's name anymore in these threads; he's just so.................. well he's not original; we all know he could do an amazing job, but he wouldn't blow our minds away. Nah, he's already done that with POTC and Edward Scissorhands and Finding Neverland and Blow and all sorts of great movies; you guys saw how Heath Ledger or Aaron Eckart or Eric Roberts or Liam Neeson or even Christian Bale were curve ball choices. If you think about it alot of people think Depp's the obvious choice for Riddler or Joker; Nolan casts more random choices than obvious fan favorites if you really take the time to notice it. Depp's never gonna happen, just face the face facts gang.

As for Scott as Selina, I can kinda see it happen; if you want a straight forward answer, then ya, I'll say hell no. We seriously need to get Catwoman right for once and if she's gonna happen in Nolan's world we're gonna need the far most perfect choice; and Scott couldn't reach that standard even if hell froze over. Right now I've actually been thinking more towards Anne Hathaway or Eva Green; I think there's better out there that I have yet to brilliantly think of, but they're really pretty solid choices though IMO.

I've seen it. He's still campy in it.

That works for the Mariachi trilogy, not Nolan's Batman.

Thankyee Nolan Roll, I have my moments; you should see me when I'm on the top of my game, I can be quite brilliant. And it's just KJ friendo. :cwink:
Yup, Anne Hathaway would be nice suggestion for Selina, I could see her playing the part. What do you think about Guy Pearce as the Riddler?

Here's another thing about Depp: if anything, yeah he maybe campy, but moreover he's most likely gonna portray it like he was gonna a Tim Burton BatMan. And from what I've seen no good can come outta that since he's done............. well I dunno Edward Scizzorhands, Corpse's Bride, Sweeny Todd, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sleepy Hollow, and a couple of others I'm too lazy to think up right now. :brucebat:

Exactly.

Agreed; and I've heard about Pearce and I thithat'd be a pretty solid choice too. Well only because you could cast Pearce for anything and it'd still be pretty awsome; and if he didn't go over and do the Hulk movie (which really held him back performance wise), I'd love to see Norton for Riddler.

Yeah BTW have you seen Memento, Pearce was simply brilliant in that. It got snubbed an oscar.

Only clips of it online; my netflix list hasn't been updated yet and I've been meaning to see it for awhile now. :csad: But indeed, everything Nolan and Pearce touches in perfection; they're both brilliant.

I saw the trailer for Hathaway's new movie Rachel Getting Married. She's better in that trailer than she has been in any movie in her whole career.

She's very good in the movie, but the actress who protrays her sister, Rosemarie DeWitt, is even better.
