The Joker - Rhys Ifans (Enduring Love, The Replacements, Human Nature)
I don't know what Nolan is planning to do about the Joker. From the film, it's pretty clear they wanted the character back for more. Does Ledger's death effectively kill off the character too? If not, I think Ifans could respect what Ledger did, while bringing his own spin to the character. Not saying it'd be as good as Heath.. but one of comics' greatest characters shouldn't disappear from film because the actor who brought him to life has passed on..
Riddler - Peter Sarsgaard (Garden State, Jarhead, Flightplan)
No one can play cocky, smarmy, smartest-guy-in-the-room like Sarsgaard.
Catwoman - Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada, Dan In Real Life, The Jane Austen Book Club)
She's sexy, a terrific actress, and unlike a lot of buxom choices, she has the sleek build of a cat burglar.
Black Mask - Benjamin McKenzie (88 Minutes, Junebug, The O.C.)
Yeah, it's that guy from The O.C. But, he's a much better actor than you'd expect. He's absolutely fantastic in Junebug. And, the role of Black Mask needs someone fresh-faced and innocent-looking to make his philanthropist side more loveable and his warped side more shocking.
The Penguin - Timothy Spall (Enchanted, The Last Samurai, Prisoner of Azkaban)
I know Nolan isn't a huge fan of the character, but I want the British arms dealer Penguin we've heard rumored. He doesn't have to be freakish, ala De Vito.. Just short, rotund, and heartless.
