The Dark Knight Rises Casting Call (All Villains)

Now, don't chew me out about this one, but...

William Fichtner for the Black Mask.

I know he already played the bank manager, but who says he can't play a different character who just happens to look similar?

Actually, this is really an excuse for more Fichtner. That guy rocks.
the man had a grenade blown off in his face, all thats left probably is a blackened skull

LOL

maybe, that was the plan all a long, instead of the black mask wearing a mask, he would be a guy that had his face blown off, and somehow survived
(though, that could be a lil to similar to twoface)

Highly doubtful that the bank manager died. The way the scene ended and judging by his reaction, all that came out of the grenade was harmless gas. A prank by the Joker.

I'd could see Joaquin Phoenix as The Penguin.

Black Mask is a perfect fit for the Nolan Batverse. So much so that they were initially going to include him as one of the main villians in Dark Knight during the very early stages of development. He's actually an intersting character and can be made even moreso in Nolan's hands, but who would play him? He would need to be charismatic, yet distrubing to an amazing degree. He's easily one of the most evil and sadistic of Batman's rogues, perhaps only eclipsed by Joker himself. But I can't think of a really great choice. I love Daniel-Day Lewis and just want him in one of Nolan's Batman movies at any capacity, but don't think he would fit with mask, suggestions?

Oh, and my dream picks for two villians you will never see in the Nolanverse Batman movies: Phillip Seymour Hoffman as Penguin and Patrick Stewart as Fries. Then again, Ra's Al Ghul is an immortal and Joker is a lunatic with a chemically altered body and mind in the comics and they worked perfectly in the first two films, however altered.

then if he did survive, maybe he will return as a villain

Where did you read that? I mean, I remember debunked rumors, but was there actual proof of this?

I most recently saw it surface again on Black Mask's wikipedia page. Originally I heard of this over a year ago on these boards and someone provided a link to an unused article for Empire magazine that popped up back then, it entailed the writers and Nolan hashing out the next batman film, but I believe was pulled because of Nolan wanting to keep it secret I believe. Either way, it was quickly done away with. But now I wonder if perhaps the character might be thrown in again?

I see. Well, like you said, the character can be very well done by the Nolans, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him.

Especially if we get the philanthropist subplot for Selina and Bruce, a rival corporation for Wayne Enterprises would only add to that.

Kaki:

Doesn't mean they'll use it.

We won't know who the villains are until the film is in production.

Until then it's total speculation.

I know. I wasn't trying to imply otherwise. I mean, they passed on him when all was said and done. I just think personally he would go very well with the tone of these films.

Josh Brolin, man!

haha good shout, josh brolin is a great actor. people go on about his role as Moss in No Country but i really liked him in Planet Terror aswell. Even though it was a pretty hammy movie there were some great performances in it, most notably Brolins IMO

Black Mask/ Roman Sionis - Ray liota

Poison Ivy - Alicia Witt

Killer Corc - Ron Perlman

-Sophie Marceau as Catwoman, if she's used.
-Joaquin Phoenix could virtually play ANY villain, including Penguin, Black Mask, or Riddler.

I like the idea of Alicia Witt as Pam, she's actually a great actor and she has the likeability factor that would make people be able to feel a little empathetic for her, until she starts acting all crazy and poisoning people or turning them into trees or whatever she might end up doing in a movie.

He looks great in Milk. The trailer came out(no pun intended, its about a gay man) yesterday. Possible oscar nomination?!

I actually have three potential actors in mind. Ray Liotta, Josh Brolin or Guy Pearce.

I'd be happy with Casey Affleck, Guy Pearce or Paul Bettany playing Riddler. I wouldn't mind Johnny Depp either, but I think he'd be too distracting in the role.

Mark Strong for Black Mask (Revolver, Stardust, Sunshine, RocknRolla)

Those are some pretty good actors mentioned, especially Brolin. He was fantastic in No Country. Speaking of which, maybe they could get Javier Bardem for someone too. He was chilling in that.

Oh and for another great choice for a villian you'll never see in Nolan's movies-Paul Giamatti as the Ventriloquist and the voice of Scarface. He has a nice vocal range as well as being a great actor. I can clearly hear Giamatti acting all wormy as the Ventriloquist, then having some real fun doing Scarface's voice, loud and actually closer to his regular voice, barking orders at Rhino and his gang.

Well since Harvey and Rachel are toast Gotham is gonna need a new DA. I think Janice Porter from Dark Victory could work just change it up maybe so she knew Riddler from college instead of Two Face and the role would prob be much smaller since shes not as important as Harv or Rach. Carla Gugino or Mariska Hargitay would be my choice to portray her. O
