The Dark Knight Rises Casting Call (All Villains)

Gonna have to agree with the disagree. It's like someone just knocked the door open, tried to lay the law down, and everyone in the room is like "wtf?". :funny:

lolz exactly. I don't think the guy has read a single post in this thread, he's just come out with some random outburst.

Since I have been gone for waaaayyyyy too long, I will ramble on for a brief second. got a lot to say.

The Penguin fits into Nolan's world. Black Mask fits into Nolan's world. Both have mob ties, which seems to be the under lining theme in these films. Mentions of Joker can be used, or sadly Heath can be replaced (which I do not prefer as he is not a necessity for the 3rd film to be a success). The Joker is done, he's in Arkham, lets move on and leave it at that.

No Robin, no Talia, no Ventriloquist, no Killer Croc, no Riddler. Catwoman would be unrealistic in these films due to Wayne being in love with Rachel and still hurt. There is not enough film to move that story forward unless Nolan and Bale decided to do a fourth, highly unrealistic. Why even go there this late in the game? Deadshot would not hold interest for long enough and Hugo Strange is not good enough to carry film either. This is the last film guys. We have to think of the biggest bang for a one shot for these 3 films. Whoever continues the franchise after Nolan can go into all this other stuff. Think about what works now and can be wrapped up with out a bunch of "what if's."

Penguin and Black Mask are the only two I can think of to carry a Nolan/Bale Batman, but still, these is something missing. I would say Hush, but he is too current me thinks for Nolan. I can see where Nolan is coming from though. What more is there to say and os it worth saying?

i don't agree. they could have him morning rachel in the beginning and than have him slowly start to move on and fall for the new girl during the course of the movie. and having him find out that the new girl (catwoman) is the 1 he's been fighting all along would be sorta tragic for him too.

over all, I'd prefer 3 to have riddler and catwoman. but if any1 could make an awesome penguin, its the nolans

That's exactly what I did. I came in here out of the blue and posted my thoughts. Sorry I don't have time to read 132 pages of others thoughts, jeez.

Why waste another film making Bruce fall in love, don't need it. Use her death as motivation to do more in Gotham. I want to see Bruce layin down his pimp hand, not getting mushy. We'll be lucky if we get one more movie, why waste the time IMO.

And it's fine you disagree, I didn't ask you to agree. That is what this place if for if I remember right. Man, this place hasn't changed a bit lol.

The relationship between Batman and Catwoman doesn't have to be a waste of time. Just look at BR. BTW, which Nolan film was wasted with having Batman fall in love? BB? That built Rachel and Bruce's relationship so that her death would have meaning. TDK? The love triangle was only a minor part of the story. Rachel's main purpose was to die.

Batman can still hammer villains and fall in love. Just have him square off against some minor crooks and some other supervillains. I know there are lots of people who'd rather see Batman without a love interest in BB3, but with Rachel's death there's a female void that Catwoman can neatly fill.

so..anybody think Orlando Bloom would make a pretty interesting choice for Black Mask? definitely a Ledger-style left-field casting choice..the only question is whether he can play a bada**

Comparing Orlando Bloom to Ledger? ARE YOU FCKING MAD?!!!

*Hurm* Let's go back to some of my old choices; Mackenzie Crook or Justin Bartha for Riddler, perhaps?

well would he have access to a computer if he was mentally unstabl?

I agree. Orlando Bloom still hasn't proved to me he can actully act and I've seen most of his movies.

I like Mackenzie Crook. Not sure about Riddler but I could see him as another creepy scarecrow type villain.

you misunderstand me..when i say "Ledger-style" i'm not comparing the two. What i mean is, that they're both associated with these cheesy teen popcorn flicks that girls go to to gawk over them and whatnot, BUT that there's a lot of potential for something far more.

Where do you see this mass potential in Bloom's work?

well, you can actually see a hint of it in pirates3..at one point his character is very cold and sarcastic (mainly in the scene between him, beckett and jones)

Oh yes Pirates 3. that was a real tour-de-force performance.

i never said it was tour-de-force, what i said was you can see a bit of the range bloom is capable of. and dude, Laderlappen, we're all supposed to be friends here man, you don't need to be ragging on me. why you gotta be so serious? :hoboj: i'm just giving an opinion (granted, a rather out-there opinion, but an opinion nonetheless)

I dont wanna get in a fight with you. I just find it ridiculous to compare Bloom who managed to be sarcastic when his character is sarcastic(I dont know, I havent seen it) with Ledger who made one of the greatest acting performances of our time.

Bowie could make an awesome Joker. In fact I think he was offered the role for the 89 film.

Bowie was not offered the role in '89. Nicholson was always WB's numbah one guy. They had to threaten bringing in Robin Williams to get him to do it.

but i'm NOT comparing him to ledger..what i'm saying is that it would be as left-field a casting choice as Ledger was at the time he was cast..we didnt know what he was gonna do with the Joker, but we were all blown the hell away!:hoboj: Bloom has the potential to do the same thing, he just needs the right movie to showcase that. whether or not he will is a different story

I thought Bloom was pretty good in Kingdom of Heaven, he was simply outacted by Nesson and Norton.

I don't think Nolan wasted time with a love story. I'm saying why waste the time now in a final third film if it has no where to go after the film ends? Why waste the time to have him fall in love in one story only to leave it as a huge question mark forever? She could throw herself at him and he could constantly get irritated by it. He would still be broken hearted form Rachel.

I just don't think Nolan needs to go there. Been there done that. He already said he didn't want to make a movie unless the story needed to be told. That particular story does not. The story now is that Batman is a fugitive. That particular story line would not work in in Nolan's film of course. But, the story is going forward that he needs to be brought in. I can see the mob trying to make face and act as marshal law to bring him in. Enter Penguin and Black Mask. You could throw in some random hitman such as Bane or Deadshot, but give him depth is all I ask, which Nolan would do.

...besides, Batman never really had any ONE woman. He wants Selina, that ship has sailed in Nolan's version. Lets end this trilogy on a high note and get down to making Batman accepted in Gotham by stamping out villains hardcore style, not getting mushy over the ladies.
