It would be nice to see Pearce in team again with Nolan... he is very underestimated and that role could give him a chance to become widely noticed.

I'm just hoping Nolan doesn't give into any studio pressure and sign established stars for these roles ala the Burton run on the series....where the celebrity overshadowed the roles. What I love so much about these films is that Nolan took strong actors that were not typical Hollywood superstars and made awesome movies. Even in the Dark Knight, no matter how great Ledger was, I don't feel that he dominated the movie. Both films have a total team effort feel to it. Look how much screen time Gary Oldman gets as Commisioner Gordon....and rightfully so. If studios had there way, I'm sure they would have given the role to someone with more...cough cough star power...and we would have been robbed of a great performance. I believe in Christopher Nolan and while I might critique certains parts of these films....his choice of actors has been spot on.

... That's why you get great actors who BECOME their roles rather than just show up and play themselves. Comparison: Johnny Depp to Angelina Jolie. Johnny is very good at immersing himself in his characters, no matter the role, whereas Angelina Jolie almost always feels like Angelina Jolie. She's a good actress, and her personality suits a lot of her roles, but she is MASSIVELY overrated. Nowhere near other great actors such as Johnny Depp, Don Cheadle, Heath Ledger, etc.

I actually think Depp is a great actor and would do a great job in ....well.....any role he does. I'm only going by past history and so things can change. I have yet to see Nolan use an established box office draw in his movies...ala Depp, Jolie, Russel Crowe,Spacey etc. I take nothing away from any of their acting abilities. I just think Nolan has a knack of taking actors that are not per se big box office draws and making them truly shine. I'm excited, as everyone else is, to see who he picks for the next movie as his choices of Bale, Cillian Murphy, and Ledger have been perfect.

I still think he should go with Casey Affleck or Guy Pearce as the riddler, there both actors who have both only been known for their performances in co-starring roles, the are really good though in their starring roles (Memento, Gone Baby Gone). I have no problem with Depp actually, I'm a fan, but I don't think I would want him in a batman movie. I do think he should work with Nolan on a film though.

I don't know why I haven't seen this suggested before (but I'm sure it has been), but what about Alan Rickman for The Penguin? He's effin' PERFECT for the part.
