The Dark Knight Rises Casting Call (All Villains)

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but what about Helena Botham Carter for Catwoman?

 He's white! God I had not a clue! Of course he's white in the movie man. My point was that Talia could be at the very least half-white, half-arab. What does the fact that he's white mean, that his daughter has to look just like him. I mean, especially when his wife was Arabic.

I don't think she has the look of a catwoman.

For an older Harley maybe, but not Catwoman.

His wife's ethnicity was never mentioned in the movie. So Talia can be a mix of anything. IMO, it's more important about the skill of the actress, not her ethnicity.

What about Andy Serkis as The Mad Hatter?

Nice choice. I'd still rather see Geoffrey Rush. Something about him screams "Mad Hatter" to me.

Right. Sorry about the sarcasm. It's just been something that's been getting under my skin lately. I would go to other boards and see such blatant racism when someone olive skinned was mentioned for Talia, or a black woman was mentioned for Catwoman, and it would piss me off so bad. I guess I was kind of preparing for it when I joined SHH. Didn't mean to let it out on you. You were just stating the facts. However, you really should do a google on Indira Varma. Then you'll see why I'm so adamant about her. She looks like she could be mixed, so it could work. But mostly....... just....... damn. Sorry again bro.

Rachel Weisz should be Talia, despite her slight resemblence to Liam Neeson along with being one hell of an actress. Hope theres still a chance she could get cast, if the character is considered to appear do to the fact that she'll be looking for revenge on Bruce for what he did to Ra's. Though, it's been stated that the whole Ra's ordeal is done with...

That would be great. Weisz as Talia.

Could always start a petition.

Or e-mail Jett for some support...

But like I said, the whole Ra's continuation thing has been put to rest so that new characters could be introduced. Even though Talia would be new to the whole Batman franchise and I'd kill to see her, she'd still end up having a connection to him by potentially playing a love interest for Bruce and secretly planning to kill Batman without realizing the person she's in love with is actually the person who's responsible for her fathers death.

Talia along with Leslie Thompkins and Harleen Quinzel, have all been confirmed to appear or not appear in the sequel. So theres a chance one or all three could show up...

Wouldn't she be trying to kill Bruce? Undoubtably, if she had contact with her father between the destruction of Ra's's temple and Ra's trip to Gotham and then demise, she would have known about Bruce? Or maybe Ra's doesn't like to share his feelings.

Okay I guess you're right. She probably hears that Batman kills her father and gets angry.

But if anyone's gonna know his ID It'd be her, right?

And besides I always thought Talia fell in love with Batman (the crusader/warrior) not Bruce(the playboy). She likes that strong silent violent type of man

YOu foos. Mcauley for JOKER!!!

Talia - Indira Varma

I dare you to show me a better Talia. Not only is she gorgeous, and talented. But just look at her. Look at those eyes. She has the perfect look and voice. I could give a million reasons why she should be Talia, so for anyone who harshly objects, I can go all day with this one. Plus, she's british, and Chris Nolan seems to have a thing for casting brits *crosses fingers*.

Selina - Rosario Dawson : at the very least, I think we can all agree that she has the right physique.;)

Theres your year one Catwoman right there. I could post more pics to further prove my point, but I fear they would get me banned.

Joker : Adrien Brody

Ra's : Liam Neeson with a tan and better hair. (Anybody else hate his hairstyle in Begins.) I think that in the beginning, Liam's look fit the Ducard character. But seeing as though Ra's appeared later in the movie, a while after the destruction of the monestary. I think it would have been cool if they'd completely changed his appearance to looke more like the Ra's from the comics. That would have added to the drama of the revelation of he being Ra's all along. Imagine, that revelation scene, Bruce turns around and see's Liam with a tan, two long strands of beard, and longer hair.

Two Face : Damn, I guess Jake is going to be playing Harvey. God, I can already hear the A-holes, "Batback Mountain".

more to come

You know I was one of the few people who didnt have a problem with Roasrio as Selina. Its an underated and inspired choice

I was one of those people too. But I'm also a member of the Portman campaign, so...

i don't get why everyone assumes that ra's al ghul is arab. is it because in batman:tas they were in india and the sahara desert? because indians aren't arabs. and arabs mostly resemble white people with darker features. ra's's race is ambiguous. no one really knows. neeson didn't have a british accent it was something different. listen to the way he says "ra's al ghul" in the movie. a brit wouldn't say it like that. anyway...maury chaykin IS rupert thorne! and that's my contribution to this thread. auf wiedersehn.

I think Brian Cox is rupert thorne. He'd be genious.

and I think Ra's is racially ambiguous too. I think Neeson was perfecto.

Ra's was "born to a tribe of Arabic nomads" < direct quote from Ra's : Year One. And being that they were a tribe of Arabic nomads six hundred years ago, I heavily doubt that they where not Arabic. Oh, and about your theory on TAS. Yeah, if I was a newcomer to Ra's and his origins, I would assume that he was Arabic just based off of his name and skin tone. All in all, Ra's is Arabic. It pissed me off at first when it was revealed that Liam was really Ra's. However, if there is one character who is understandably altered, it's Ra's, seeing as though he's an Arabic ecoterrorist. I can kinda see why the WB and the staff of BB passed on that idea. Hell, all I want is for Liam to come back (yes, he simply must) slightly darker, with a longer beard, and a better haircut. In retrospect, I love the choice of Liam Neeson, and I'm a heavy advocate of his return.

Okay guys. I've been wondering about this for the longest time. Now I'm pretty well versed in Batman mythology. But did Rupert Thorne ever appear in the comics, or just TAS?:(

wouldn't that kinda ....not make sense? for his skin color to change during the midst of one continuity?

Explain it with the Lazarus pit and I'm game as hell for it
