The Dark Knight Rises Casting Call (All Villains)

in order to be a psychotherapist you need to have graduated college, i never said Harley had to be super intelligent, but she needs to be older in order to be believable. honestly, does Katie Holmes look old enough to be an Assisstant DA? no. that was a MAJOR problem for me.

as for Woody Allen, i just don't care for him as an actor, he plays ONE role - Woody Allen. Paul Giamatti is my pick for Ventriloquist.

Maybe she's not supposed to be anywhere near The Joker, but he gets at her through some dastardly method.
i like this idea.

the child prodigy is....eh.

And yet that role is a lot like The Ventriloquist.

that one works better.
she's interning at Arkham with lower level psychotics, but somehow The Joker sees her, likes what he sees, and decides to have some fun.

it works.
it fits into both of their characterizations.

Harley is seduced by The Joker, who is dastardly and sneaky.

i still prefer Paul Giamatti for the role.
i just plain don't like Woody Allen as an actor. personal basis to the actor.

The difference between Rachel and Harley is that Rachel is supposed to be a tough, strong independent woman. She needed to be an older, more mature actress in order to work. Nolan and Goyer did not realize that, and dropped the ball when it came to casting her.

Harley, on the other hand, is a complete polar opposite to Rachel.

I can't lie that is better than my idea where she feels bad for him after he tells her a giant bag of lies and then starts to fall in love with him.

but Harley still needs to be old enough to be at least a grad student, and have a certain level of intelligence about her. remember, before Joker got a hold of her and warped her mind she actually was intelligent, she just was very naive about the world.

I gave my idea about that subject so............I'm out of ideas.

I was never saying she wasn't. But she could easily work with a younger actress, especially if they're good. Scarlett has been doing roles beyond her age range for years. She was 18, at the time, and in Lost In Translation, she was playing a 25 year old romancing Bill Murray, who's well near 60 if not already there.

she was 25 in that movie!? i don't remember that....
i might need to watch it again.

the thing about Scarlett is that i look at her and think - she's beautiful and looks like she could handle a tough situation. i need to look at Harley and think - she's cute and so easy to break apart.

Scarlett's such a great actress that she could play tough or vulnerable, whatever's called for.

newway, you have a lot of good points, but I still think Faris could pull it off. She is 30 right now so she could play a mid-30s person especially since I dont see Dr. Quinn in a Joker's first movie (at least not til the end). I think a fourth movie where the Joker escapes would be better. Also, Faris has played and i think will play a "straightman" in movies, upcoming being Super Ex (havnt seen them so dont tajke my word for it). Plus her zany (loss of better word) side will totally outweigh her serious side so i think her acting caliber wont be the most important (although not unimportant) part.

she is rather wonderful, but i think she's played a lot of assertive females and that might be the cause of my view of her. she looks like if the time came down to it she could kick some ass.

Scarlett would make a great Poison Ivy, a few years down the line.

i could see her as Ivy now....
make her just some crazy environmentalist who sells poppies to Crane. :)

Scarlett would be great as any of the female villians except for Talia (not exotic enough), but I'd prefer to see her as Barbara.

I meant that the films won't get around to a new Ivy until a few years down the line - I agree that she could play the part now.

She'd make a fabulous Batgirl, too.

I'd like to see Elisha Cuthbert as Batgirl. I feel like she can play the cute, lovable, and surpisingly intelligent girl.

for some reason i could see Elisha Cuthbert as Harley....
maybe it's because she looks so much like BTAS version of her without the makeup on.
