Just out of curiosity who would be you choice for that iconic character?

On the top of my head i'd say John Travolta

I was thinking more of a younger jor-el in flashbacks of krypton . as for stamp we can always assume he’s jor-el digital self or who knows the eradicator. somehow stamp just doesnt fit the jor-el image for me. dont get me wrong i love his voice.

Older Jor-El = Terrance Stamp

Young Jor-El and Lara = Dean Caine and Teri Hatcher.:woot:

To be honest this was actually going to start of as A ‘does tom welling have a resemblance to a young travalota.’ Thread.

Cause my mom taught so.

dean cain for jor el if they go younger

IMHO, Tom Welling. he portraited the character back in Relic and I think he played a good part.

He could easily portrait a Jor-El with 40-45 years old: it won't require a guest star who probably will earn a lot of money. If the make-up team can make him younger, they make him older too.

If Tom plays Jor-El, it would be to only a good choice but in fact the greatest option from a financial point of view.

i didn't like relic - the whole clark and lana reliving their ancestors had been done before in roswell and was very cheesy- like they were 'meant to be'. The story was good from jor -el s point of view as an independent character

What I expressed was Welling's ability to play an excellent Jor-El with a 40-45 year old, not the episode itself, although I did enjoy the "relic" episode.

Well it would be in continuity with Relic to have him played by Tom Welling.

Er...

How about this guy?

Hells yeah!

Alfred Gough said, that if we ever do see Jor-El on the show, he will be played by Terence Stamp. Personally, I wouldn't want it any other way.

Another thing a lot of people tend to forget is, that in the Smallville universe (just like STM), Jor-El was an older man when he sent Clark to Earth. In "Relic", Jor-El was a grown man in the early sixties, when Jonathan Kent was still in diapers. Stamp portraying the role as an older, more distinguished gentleman, would fit in nicely with their timeline.

How old do you think Helen Slater is? She's only like three years older than Cain...

*ruffles 'boom's hair affectionately*

I can tell you about my new job and the embarrassment that ended the old one.

They actually put me on TV for the final minutes of the show!

Apparently, it's a tradition.

Man, if I'd known that I woulda worn make-up and done something different with my hair. Thank god I didn't tivo the last show like I had wanted to.... then I'd have to see myself on tv.

*shudder*
