Thank you! And it shows not only more of the pic but also her slight sly smile.

I think she looks sexier when she smiles than when she's just having a neutral expression.

Is there a bigger gif of her vibrating the hammer with her hand to cause it to explode?

Is she vibrating it or is it shaking because its pushing against her hand and trying to continue forward? I thought it was the latter.

Well I think Thor's hammer is pushing against her hand to begin with, but then maybe she's vibrating it afterwards to cause it to explode like that in her hand. She does something to it with her hand.

Yeh i think so too.
It means that she is having a bit of hard time keeping it completely still.

Ok she looks pretty darn cool.

Nothing quite makes a first impact than catching and destroying that hammer. Can't wait to see more of her.

I dunno. I think it's definitely still trying to move forward and she's stopped it, but then there are some kind of emanations from her hand that cause it to erupt, as if there's a pulse flowing through it.

There's nothing emanating from her hand, she's crushing Mjolnir and its power is escaping causing the explosion.

I have long had a crush on Cate. This movie is somehow making it worse. She is so amazing. They better not waste her.

I am hoping for some epic scenery chewing from her. I don't want subtle nuance I want big bold and brassy! I was hoping for a more serious tone but if the movie is going to be a freak fest it might as well go to 11 with it.

She's an actress who can come across as larger than life without a lot of effort or exaggeration, so I expect her to absolutely kill it in this role, however she chooses to play it. (And Infinity War also, if that happens, which I think it will.)

Cate Blanchett's Hela is like the goth twin sister of her Galadriel. She's going to steal every scene she's in. :hmr: I'm so glad they were able to hire an actress of her magnitude! They better not waste her talent like IM3 did with Sir Ben Kingsley.

She could have put more effort into her role in CRYSTAL SKULL, just saying.

Disagree, I think she did everything she possibly could with that rather thankless role. The hammy accent et al was perfect for an Indiana Jones villain, it wasn't her fault that the writing around the character (and the Russians in general) was paper thin. At no point did Spalko really pose a threat to Indy, because she was never allowed to. She was completely written into a corner where she was always three steps behind him. A much better comparison is Cate's evil stepmother in Disney's live action Cinderella, she completely rocked that role and pretty much stole the whole movie. The stepmother was cruel and devious but Cate gave her real personality and complexity whilst still being deliciously hammy and entertaining.

I personally think Hela showed more personality and charisma in the 30 seconds or so she had in the teaser trailer than Malekith did in the entirety of TDW. The fact that she has been given so much focus in the teaser strengthens my belief that Marvel have really tried to go all out with this character and she's going to be a huge step up from what we're used to. I'm so hyped, I keep watching the trailer over and over mainly for her. :woot:

Considering the twist/reveal personally I wouldn't say IM3 wasted Kingsley's talent. Quite the opposite in fact.

It's ironic that despite the perception that exists among some that the Thor films are the weakest of the MCU to date the best, most well regarded big screen villains are Loki and quite possibly and hopefully Hela.

They are weakest because the MCU bar is higher than other comic book franchises. That doesn't make them bad.

In CAROL she did not "chew the scenery" so much as she "munched the carpet"...

I will defend the first film as an underrated gem that has some of the best stuff in the MCU phase one... That second film though is so mediocre and underwhelming that one of the reasons this trailer is hitting such a home run is because the fans that the first film brought to the table who felt the second film was much more than a minor letdown, think this will be the sequel they wished they had gotten with TDW.

I truthfully do not understand why there's so much dislike towards the first movie. Yeah The Dark World royally sucked and I can see why they decided to make the follow-up a complete 180, but I don't quite get why the first one also gets lumped in with it when people talk about the Thor franchise sucking.

It's nowhere near as good as Iron Man 1 obviously but the worst thing I can say about it is it spends too much time on Earth (which I argue makes sense for an origin like this, so I wasn't bothered).

Now don't you dare waste her like you did Eccleston last time Marvel. And no having her turn out to be the pawn of the actual big bad either. She's the goddess of death for goodness sake.

Forgive me here. Im about to ask a potentially stupid question.

Is this Lady Death? Like the same Lady Death that Thanos chases after?
