Cavill and Snyder appearing at comic con!

We hope there'll be sequel official announcement...

Thanks for sharing... I have to say the best Superman costume are in this order.

1. MOS
2. STM
3. Return (Not a fan of that small \S/)
4. Lois and Clark

Agree on all points, though Returns and STM are close to me. The only Supes costume I own is the Returns version, but still really want a STM version and give the edge to him.

My favs
MOS
Superman
LnC
Superman TAS
Superman cameo in "The Batman" cartoon
Superman/Batman Public Enemies
Superman Returns

During Superman Returns, in scenes where they showed a close-up of the \s/ it made me cringe. The worst \s/ I've ever seen, size and dimension was so weak-looking and artificial. It would have been disaster if SR got a trilogy and they kept that suit :wow:

How can you chalk up the opening weekend to the action when no one had seen the movie yet?

Because Rotten Tomatoes told everyone this film had TOO MUCH action. A Superman film with TOO MUCH action? That is what people want to hear. Because the footage from the trailers indicated that it was a visual spectacle. So when you see that trailer footage, at first you fear its misleading and that you will only get 15 minutes of action (like a Nolan Batman film), but when you hear Rotten Tomatoes reviews say its TOO MUCH action you know this is the film for you. Rotten Tomatoes and the trailers worked together to help the box office.

Close your eyes....

Zack Snyder walks out to MOS film footage. Crowd applauds. Zack thanks the crowd and tells them how AWESOME the film was accepted and opens up fan-questions for his segment. Once the Q & A is over, he announces he brought somebody with him.

...Hans Zimmer Man of Steel theme plays. Cavill walks out in his suite. Crowd goes ape****. Cavill comes out, doesn't say a word. He stands there, spotlight on him. He turns his head, and looks up on the wall. The theater goes dark. All of a sudden, the Bat-Signal shines on the wall with a "WORLDS FINEST" font beneath it. People in the crowd pass out.

/end dream.

I had a similar dream for the original trilogy cast returning to Star Wars 7. But that's another thread and story. How about not just the bat signal, how about a step up with Cavill in suit looking up into space at the JL watchtower and flashing to the different logos of the roster of heroes in the JL movie?

^ My heart wants 2015, but that risks it being rushed. 2016 sounds better, but it will push forward a WW and World's Finest movie by a year. And Wondy needs to come out before a good Black Widow spin-off does ;)
I also want a 2015 release it would just make that year even sweeter.

I'd add the Superboy costume in 3rd just above Returns but agreed on the order for the Superman costumes

It is quite amazing that we were spared a SR sequel. Gotta give credit where credits due, despite drawing more than BB, WB clearly identified that it was a poor Superman film, and it all led the way for a proper reboot. 'Grats WB.

It wasn't a quality decision at all. Do you think the studio cares about that??
It was the budget was too monstrous. So even though the gross was high, the profit was not. It might have actually lost money.

In studio discussions, quality is a non existent word. That is why MOS will get a sequel dispute not being a good film. It will get a sequel because it is financially viable.

Maybe. The film still made alot of money though. I do still think they took into account the actual expandability that was possible with Singers film, as well as the public/fan reaction on it. I think old interviews with the Executive Producers at WB have proven this.

If Superman Returns made a ton of money, DC wouldn't care that no one liked Superman having a child.

Story wise, I find MOS has a better foundation to build upon. I think it's easier to create follow-up stories to it than SR.

If Singer didn't do Valkyrie, I feel like that SR sequel happens.

See I thought he did Valkyrie because the SR sequel was on hold.

There were articles as early as August 2006 questioning the future of SR.

Bluntly, Man of Steel has more sequel potential than Superman Returns ever had.

That wasn't the impression that I had then. It seemed like he wanted to do the Nolan thing of a pet project in between superhero movies. Unfortunately for Singer (and more so Brandon Routh) it gave the public more time to protest it. I was in the camp of "let's see where this goes" rather than calling for a reboot, but even I ended up changing my mind later on.

Yeah, the longer the wait after SR the less likely there was going to be a sequel. The groundswell became more negative. The reception looked even worse by the time TDK arrived.

The main reason, I think, MOS has much more sequel potential is because MOS really established Superman/Clark as a character. By the end of the movie, I truly felt like I knew this guy, that I cared about him. I want to see him take that next step as a hero and a leader, as well as see him establish his secret identity.

SR seemed to be relying on the fact that we already knew Superman and didn't feel a need to give his character any development. It was sort of like, "Yeah, you already know everything about this guy, so we're not going to waste much time on him." Whether that was due to a bad script or scenes being cut due to Routh's acting, I'm not sure (I've heard both things).

I'm also much more comfortable going forward with Cavill and Amy Adams then Routh and Bosworth.

As for comic con, I hope some news leaks even if it's informal and not official yet.

I still like Routh as Superman, but it was the story that eventually turned me off. If Singer wouldn't have included Jason then I feel like the whole perception of the movie changes. I would think that it would have been deemed a decent movie that luckily didn't ruin anything for future installments similar to the Avengers origin's not named Iron Man. There would have been some potential to build off of.

All that matters is that the announce the sequel date tomorrow.

Just a short note that Dylan Sprayberry (Young Clark Kent) tweeted this:

GUESS WHO'S GOING TO COMIC CON?!?! This guy ! Hope to see ya there ;)

P.S. I will be on THE MAN OF STEEL PANEL !!!!!!!!!!

Too bad Amy can't attend as well; I think she's filming her new film at the moment, thus preventing her from even having the time to do so. Oh well, I hope that if there's a comic con panel dedicated to MOS 2 in the near future, that both Henry and Amy can be there.

I believe informal is probably what we are going to get .
But, it is better than nothing.
