CC vs Ads!

Had to go back to Chrome and even with adblocker the Hong Kong ad keeps coming up. Opera was better but it's being weird on this computer.

from what I understand, non logged in site users will see more ads than those who are logged in. and tech is working on some things with Chrome

Yep - I'm seeing a few prior to logging in (PC, Chrome). Once I'm logged in they're gone.

More? That must be terrible!

not more per se, just that those logged in will see less

There's a Dell Inspiron ad that pops up at every single mouse click.

Every time you load a different page. This really makes me want to choose a better browser with a better adblocker.

^Firefox with adblock plus is pretty good with it.

Though has anyone found something that will get around webpages that block users who use adblock from seeing content? I hate to whitelist sites that use the full screen pop up site takeover stuff.

I'm getting that Dell pop-up all the time too. Basically on every click.

I forgot why I stopped using Firefox, it slows down my computer. Back to Chrome and installed adblocker.

are you guys logged in while seeing all these ads?

When I was posting it was happening before and after you logged in.

Right now, and I'm not sure it's because I have adblock on, I get the Hong Kong again only before I log on.

As Erzengel said, before the really really annoying ads would happen both before and after you logged in.

However, for me personally at least, for the past week or so it's been a lot better. I'll still get the annoying ads before login (which is fine/understandable since - as has been noted - those who aren't logged in are supposed to get more ads). But the annoying/drastically slow down my browser ads that were killing everything even after I was logged in appear to have stopped/gone away. Board is much better now (knock on wood). Again, that's for me. Don't know if others are still having issues

I use Pi-hole. No need for third-party ad-blockers... It's device agnostic and works at the network level so no ads on any web browsers (desktop and mobile), smart TVs and mobile apps/games.

Y'all welcome.

I see ads unless I log in. On the main hype page I'm getting a LOT of ads. It's obscene. I'm using Adblocker and ADP and both are updated. Disabled my other extensions, turned ADP and AB on and off, updated the filters, turned off "allow whitelisted ads".

It's just being a ****.

I get on SHH the most when I'm on my phone and as a result I use the mobile site version. Starting this week I've gotten annoying ads taking up the entire screen and always popping up wherever I browse. Now I have started using a desktop version of the site but it's harder to browse.

are you logged in on your phone while you're browsing?

Enjoying the foreign Chase commercial at the bottom of the screen.

Anyone else keep getting the Honda Summerbration banner at the bottom of every screen?

This "Travel to Hong Kong" ad is haunting me.

I'm using chrome, and every single time I open the site, I see it pop up at least three times before I can enter my log in info. And now for the past week or so, every time I've opened SHH on Chrome the font is magnified. I thought it was just my computer but I tried it on two separate computers. Obviously, it's easy to minimize the font but it's a strange thing that's now happening.

1) Open site on Chrome
2) Hong Kong ad appears and blocks screen, I refresh at least three times before it goes away long enough for me to type in my log in info
3) Once logged in, entire site is magnified and i need to decrease my font size to view it better. This is the only tab affected by the large font, and I tried this on two separate computers.
