The Ion look was awesome. Loved the spiked hair, too.

If they have Hal Jordan, One thing I want for him is the white gloves. They are so awesome.

I like this idea.

And I know I am going to get booed for this, but I really like Kyle Rayner's costume. It actually looked like the officer's uniform:

At least, I feel they should go with something similar if they give Jordan a domino mask. This one looks like it actually has some purpose and it's the only one I find would not look silly on screen.

I said this a while ago in I can't remember anymore which thread. Actually, I like all the propositions you made here.

Though I found this costume as well:

I like those lines, they make it look more like space uniform for some reason.
I wouldn't be against these suits for Jordan with few improvements (like the white gloves :D

It's indeed more space cop related outfit.

The black with the green lighting it's really good looking.

Kyle's costume is probably my favorite GL costume.

I like his newer uniforms as well, but there is something uniquely appealing about his classic costume. I'm not surprised that you like it, Rorschach. You're the Barry to my Hal, the Alan to my Jay, and the Kyle to my Wally.

I like this idea.

There are a few GL enthusiasts here (and not just of one particular Lantern) who certainly won't jeer for mentioning Kyle's sweet threads.

Actually, white gloves are something I feel should most definitely be avoided on this costume. They are atrocious to me, and that's one of the reasons (domino mask being the other) I prefer almost any other lantern's costume to Jordan's. :woot:

It's interesting to see so many of you who are on board with this. I am not very familiar with Green Lantern universe, but I always assumed that this costume is looked down upon, given how different it is from your standard GL uniform.

It's not looked down upon, it's just viewed as "very 90s". Which is a good thing because the standard uniform is "very 60s". lol The white gloves can probably work in a movie if they change their design. But green is definitely better.

You aren't alone. I actually really liked to design of the Reynolds suit, it was the implementation that I'd change for this. Skipping the domino mask and white gloves fits my idea of what the Lanterns should look like. Kind of a cross between Stewart's and Rayner's suits as the "official" Green Lantern uniform.

I'd put the Lanterns in a physical suit but add the "glow" in post by rotoscoping (painting frame-by-frame), which is similar to how lightsaber blades used to be done in Star Wars. This way it interacts with the actors, appears to be physical, but still maintains it's uniqueness.

I'd rather they make a fabric costume and enhance it with CGI (if necessary). I'm willing to overlook the fact that the outfit is essentially a construct if we can avoid complaints about shoddy CGI.

Well, I've no problem with 90's designs to be honest. Aquaman from 90's is my favorite version when it comes to look for instance.

As for white gloves, there are probably ways they could make them work, but I'd rather if they avoid them completely. Just green and black looks much better to me.

I actually think that mask, similar to one that Kyle wears could be made to work. It should be made to be a visor, which I find would make sense given that Lanterns would probably often find themselves rather close to the sun, so they'd have to protect their eyes. Basically, something similar to "Mass Effect" visors:

As for the "glow", I'd prefer if only parts of the suit glow and not for entire time, but when ring is heavily used, like it was suggested above.

^^ I'm not a fan of 90s bearded hook-handed Aquaman. But I know what you mean about the white gloves. They are just weird.

A combination of both (mild CG enhancements) would probably be best. Or it could be completely practical and certain parts could glow whenever he uses the ring.

I'd prefer to have white gloves, though. Their absence bugged me but I'd live with it if they didn't turn up again. I'm more interested in how the new mask will look. Reynolds' looked awful, but I'm not sure if that's because of it being CG, it being bright green or him having ice blue eyes with it.

CG. the suit is suppose to be a construct created by the ring.

Given the recent rumor that we might be getting this:

I assume it would be quite possible for Rayner to wear something akin to his 90's costume, as it would help differentiate Lanterns from one another more.

If the third one is Rayner and not Gardner, that is. It would really be the shame if it happens to be the latter.

I am not following New 52... is it this one?

That's the one. Jason Fabok draws a perfect Hal. Reminds me a lot of Ivan Reis' version.

Well CGI clearly didn't work very well last time and that was a 200 million dollar movie, so no CGI this time. If they want to make the suit look more real since it's energy based and not fabric, they can still add some sparkle on it or whatever, but no full CGI this time. It just wouldn't work well.

Using CGI for the costume didn kill the movie. It was the story and the editing (not to mention the lack of brand awareness). There could have been more action and there needed to be more heartfelt drama to me. Back to the costume, CGI has been used in a number if costumes in the past, frim Superman's cape in Man of Steel to Tony Stark's armor in Iron Man and even Spider-Man's costume in most of his action scenes. We will even see some CGI in Batman's cape in the upcoming films he will star in. Let's face it. The use of CGI in costume (exclusively on CBM's) is becoming a defacto standard and I wouldn't expect them deviating from that with Green Lantern, especially when it makes sense that his costume is an energy construct.

The use of CGI wasn't the problem. it was the way it looked. And it looked bad. If they want to use a CGI costume for the reboot again, be my guest, just make it look better this time.

I'm not going to even say that. It was very original in it's interpretation in that it simulated human muscle tissue. It may not have been what fans were expecting, but it wasn't really bad at all.

Oh, it looked good on the posters, in the actual movie not so much. If you liked it, more power to you.

From what I've seen, Fabok makes them all look good.

As for the Ryan Reynolds' suit, it always looked like a bad bodypaint job to me.

I though this scene looked good as far as costumes:
