Chadwick Boseman is Black Panther! - Part 6

That couldn't be. I mean sif was alright with being on agents of shield.

I would imagine the only red tape would be salaries wise. I personally wouldn't fork out $50 mill to get RDJ on agents of shield

I'm glad to see Chadwick putting a lot of effort and doing his homework for the role.

Yeah, he was always gonna do that. After playing two of the biggest American black icons in history, he's no slouch.

The Black Panther was in the NBA All Star game lol

Can he ball? He's going to be huge after this. He's a great actor.

Man. Can't believe he'll be nearing 41 once he films this and it releases.

It's crazy. If he keeps aging at the same rate, he can do superhero roles well into his 60s

Yeah. Saw a pic of him playing for his High School or something like that a while back.

Yea, I think Nick Fury (Hoff version) sneaked him some Infinity Formula. :)

I don't wanna say because he was black, but.....yeah. Basically if you're casting a black character a people only know of a handful of guys out there. There are more, from the US, from the UK, from Africa itself, etc. But if you're high profile you stand a better chance getting cast if you're black.

Nice write-up. Kind of surprising (and a little disappointing, if true) that Chadwick was their only candidate. Not that Chadwick won't be awesome...I'm sure he'll be great. I just think there are others who at least deserved a look.

Most definitely.

So very true. And I really wish they hadn't wasted Djimon Honsou in Guardians Of The Galaxy. That man was born to play T'Challa--or at least T'Chaka. Not saying that Chadwick won't be brilliant, but he wasn't the man I was envisioning playing the character. But he's a damn good actor and I could see him giving us a great performance. But he needs to bulk up a little bit, no?

Yes! Chiwitel was definitely my pick. Nate Parker should have gotten a look as well.

Again, I'm not saying Chadwick won't own the role. I'm just saying I wish Feige would have at least had a convo with some additional actors.

I'm very happy with Boseman too, but Chiwetel was my first choice. I like Nate Parker a lot too. My top five ended up being something like this:

1. Chiwetel Ejiofor
2. Chadwick Boseman
3. Nate Parker
4. David Oyelowo
5. Aldis Hodge

Before Elba got cast as Heimdall he was running neck and neck with Chiwetel. Michael B. Jordan and John Boyega wouldn't have been bad choices if they wanted a younger T'Challa, but Boseman came on so strong with Jackie Robinson that I really loved the idea of him being T'Challa if Chiwetel wasn't the choice. Now that he's got the role while Ejiofor will play someone else I think that Nate Parker could play Killmonger. I know he's shorter than Boseman, but they can do like they did with Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. Hardy is only about 5'8, but they made him look much taller with camera angles. I really think Nate Parker could channel that intellectual aggression that Killmonger has where he's a smart ass dude with a lot of anger for none of the Panther clan coming to rescue him as a kid. He could even rock the dreads too. Make it happen, Marvel.

Chiwitel was my first choice by far, and Nate Parker was my #2. But, as I have said, what's done is done. Feige went with Boseman, so he has my full support. I'm pulling for him to hit a home run with this role. Chadwick is extremely talented, so I am confident that he will.

But, since Marvel didn't go with Nate as BP, I'm actually now hoping that DC/WB selects him for John Stewart and all of this Tyrese talk is untrue.

Ejiofor was my pick for Erik Killmonger (to me, Boseman has a better shape for Black Panther, while Ejiofor is a bit bigger and more intimidating). Of course, with him being Baron Mordo, that's not an option either.

Perhaps Marvel has Ejiofor as Baron Mordo in mind this whole time.

I agree that he was wasted in Guardians and that he could've made a good T'Chaka. He's a little old for T'Challa, IMO.

Yeah I like Boseman and he was my top choice.

But they should've at least tried to look at someone else. As others have said Nate Parker. HE's a great actor who deserves a bigger role

Is Nate Parker even interested in a Superhero role? If he wants to play an African American who is a positive role model for children, a superhero is the perfect way to do that. But its unknown the interest Parker has in the genre. He was never asked about it while promoting Beyond the Lights. I think he would be a great addition but his interest in the genre is unknown.

Just watched get on up. Good performance, not great. The movie was good not great as well. Watching him in this and 42 it'll be interesting watching him as BP
