Actually, I like them both and find it difficult to choose. All I can say, for me, it really depends on the story and how the individual villain mesh in it.

I have to say that Chameleon would probably be easier to mesh in a story, especially if it involves his parents background, him being a double agent/hitman, and is working for someone that secretly pulling the strings.

Mysterio would by far have the best special effects..... that's basically what he does. Like some one said earlier, I wouldn't want to see him having some connection to MJ, that is just to easy, simple, and a cop-out. It shouldn't have anything to do with his background in entertainment. Hell just make up something for him, it's not like it had not been done before.

I want to see Mysterio done right... but, after reading some older comics with Mysterio, I have one question:

Does he do anything that actually poses real physical danger to Spider-Man? If so, how?

I voted neither. But regarding Chameleon, I would be open to an "Imposter" story thread. Like what they did in Ultimate Spider-Man where some punk dressed as Spidey was going around robbing banks.

Come to think of it, they also killed off Captain Stacy in that story too...

I never said that guy was Ultimate Chameleon. Just that if any "Imposter" elements were to make into a future film. That would be the approach i'd prefer. :o

Let me throw this out there for a minute. This is all about Peter's journey through life. We know what he has learned in the first epic adventures now what remains. This is not about the villains or MJ but it is Peter's story. Let's say we get Lizard and Kraven in SM4. Should Connors have a family....a wife and son....I say yes. Doc Ock had a loving wife no kid and she perrished. Sandman had a loving kid who was sick but a hateful resentful wife that wanted nothing to do with him. Connors would be the example of a respected husband and father who Peter looks at and envies. He wants this as well. Peter already has proposed but what does the future hold for them? They have survived GG and Doc Ock kidnappings, Harry coming between them trying to break them up, and MJ witnessing the near death of Peter by Sandman and Venom. It has been a lot to say the least. What are the ramifications of having a family in this enviroment? Lizard and Kraven won't make it better. What does all this have to do with Mysterio and Chameleon. Stay tuned I will give you my thoughts.

Let's talk about Lizard and Kraven for a moment. These transformations that are taking place are having an enormous strain on the family and life of Connors. It is tearing them apart. They love him so much and fear for his life because of the ongoing reports and stories printed in the bugle. He needs to be killed or captured. Peter is caught in between having discovered the identity of this monster. Spiderman is having to help stop the transformations all the while fighting the Lizard. How do you fight a villain without hurting or harming him. But the Villain in the Lizard is trying to kill you. Another factor is Kraven. The man who is out to Capture/kill the beast. Spiderman must also protect Connors from him. So much to deal with. What effect does this continue to have on MJ? Peter's life thrust into danger once again. Is this anyway for a family to live? What does all this have to do with Mysterio and Chameleon. I'll get to that later.

The aspect of family. We saw in SM2 Peter give up being who he was to have what he wanted. We also saw him accept who he was and what he had to do in being the responsible person he had become. Both Peter and Mj came to terms with this and decided to put it all aside to be happy. They are now together. We saw in SM3 the desire to want more with MJ by proposing. He wants the girl to be his wife. All the things that comes with that as well. But once again they are tested by outside forces that threatenen to tear them apart. Its one thing to accept this relationship when MJ and Peter did and everything they feared would come with that. But its another thing when you actually live through those problems as they are still human and even these problems can take its toll. One must continue to think about the future of these two characters. MJ does not seem to be a patient and not always understanding. Peter is also still learning as well. How much more can they endure. Peter sacrificing everything to save his good friend Connors and seeing the effect it has on an already established family. While Peter himself wants to get to that level. Stay tuned.

I think you are in the wrong thread dude... put these posts in the SM4 theme thread, then people will see where you are going... Mysterio and Chameleon probably won't have significant roles in SM4 anyway. Your comments have been articulated nicely so keep it up... in another thread

mysterio has more potential and morphing characters have already cornered the movie marker with mystique and the masks seen in 2 charlie's angles films and the mission impossible trilogy

The Chameleon from Amazing Spider-man #1, spy and master of disguise.
Who should be introduced first if not at all?
The Chameleon because he came first before all the other major villains and has an amazing story.
Who would make a better story in an overall plot? Who are you a bigger fan of?

Both have good stories, but the Chameleon needs to come out first before the more menacing villains like the Lizard. The Chameleon is my favorite Spider-man villain.p>:woot: </p>

SPIDER-MAN 4 CHAMELEON

The last thing I want a Spider-Man movie to be is redundant with regards to other movies. Chameleon is very Mystique-y, but I think Mysterio could draw some parallels to Scarecrow as well. However, holograms and fear gas are pretty different, if for no other reason than holograms are so controlled.

If we have to take one, go with Mysterio. As for Spider-Man 5, 6, 7...I'm hoping we'll even make it to the next Spider-Man movie after this one took such a beating in the media.

Mysterio, visually, is one of the weakest characters I have seen in comic. The glass ball on his head seems so childish. I hope neither one of these gets a film. Here is an idea: Quit killing off the best villains Spiderman has to fight in his comic book universe. He has already taken out the top 3.

the Chameleon would never make a good villian.

Yes but I have to establish this here in this thread in order to make the arguments for both cases of Chameleon and Mysterio. Trust me, this will tie in to what I am saying. And as far as any significant roles in SM4 for either one, scratch that. This is beyond SM4. SM4 is set as far as I am concerned. Lizard and Kraven...nuff said.

DEFINITELY MYSTERIO! A good movie is not only about action but also tension! Mysterio is a stressing character, he will bring a new level of challenge on the big screen, We saw enough of spider man as a fighter now let see him as a thinker! God knows how good spider man is when it comes to solve problems.

if Kraven is in the movie, his younger brother should be too.

They could explore Kraven's relationship with Dimitri.

I don't see why both can't be in movies. If Sony has their way, they'll be making sm movies forever.

Why does Sergei's brother have to be in? Was there a reference to Ra's daughters in BB??? NO... is their a reference to Havoc in Xmen? Is their a reference to Graydon Creed or Magneto's children??? NO... Things can be written out... not every storyline needs to be adapted... chameleon doesn't really fit the story about his brother taking on the Lizard... if they want a setup thats cool... but we have a lot more villains with more potential than Chameleon.

^maybe, if kraven is like beating, killed, or sent to jail, at the end of his movie, it could be a setup for the chameleon to come in to take his revenge in the squeal
at least that would be the only connection i could see possible working between the two

That's true.

Although I like The Chameleon alright, I agree that there are most definately other villains in Spider-Man's rogues gallery that certainly would be a bit more of a spectacle and visually more interesting than Chameleon to the general audiences.

The Lizard, Mysterio, Electro, and The Scorpion would be some of the names on that potential list.
