Sequels Chameleon

I hope they remain faithful to his first appearance in ASM #1. I know they might change a few things like the disguise vest, but they should still stay very faithful to the character.
The white mask is the best way to go for the Chameleon. The movie V for Vendetta showed that it can be done.

I watched Heroes on Monday and in the episode, they had a woman shapeshifter or illusionist. She reminded me of the Chameleon, but she is more like Mystique or Mysterio.

I like the way they introduced her and her powers. She used her powers to impersonate someone else and made you think it was really them. It was great. She is almost like the Chameleon, only he does not have powers. That’s part of the reason the Chameleon is cool. He has no powers, yet he can impersonate male individuals using masks.

^
That was more like what Mysterio could do.

What connection would the chameleon have to Peter?

He has no connection to Peter and he should not have one in the movies. The Chameleon’s only connection should be with Spider-man. It's better if they save having any connection to Peter for the Lizard or some other villain.

Actually, that sounds good and it might work.
But I guess the question is,
Should the Chameleon have a connection to Peter?

But I see spiderine's point now.

But would we really need the Chameleon since Mysterio could do what he can,and even more like that girl on "Heroes".

I can't really see Mysterio with that fishbowl costume on the big screen.

Chameleon opportunity to grace the big screen has come and gone with SM3. So the dynamic of the Chameleon is not needed. I would prefer Mysterio from this point on, as one of the possible villains to come.

Yes we do need the Chameleon!
The Chameleon and Mysterio are still different enough to have diversified stories.
Mysterio is a movie special effects expert and master of illusion and the Chameleon is a spy and a master of disguise.

Who is the guy in the upper right hand corner, he looks like Micheal Jackson?

But they can both change their appearances by shapeshifting.

But they can both change their appearances by shapeshifting.

Your right, Mysterio could do what he can, and even more. Mysterio uses special effects equipment to fight and hurt Spider-man and can create illusions to trick Spider-man. He can even fool Spider-man with an illusion of his parents and mess with his mind. He can shapeshift his appearance to look like a giant creature.
But the Chameleon, I’m talking about is not a shapeshifer. He uses masks to disguise himself as other men. He can’t disguise or shapeshift into women like Mysterio. What makes the Chameleon very interesting though is that he has no powers and that he is a spy like the Bond villains. Some people might say go watch Casino Royale, but its not the same. He wears business suits like in the manip picture and should be like Bond or Le Chiffre in Casino Royale, only he is a master of disguise. No special cars or gadgets.
Willem Daffoe was a perfect age and body type for the Chameleon. Daffoe even wore the business suits and robe.

So while Mysterio can shapeshift, he can do more. He would shapeshift into a person, then something else. So he would be using his other abilities in the movies, not just shapeshifting.
The Chameleon main ability is wearing masks to disguise himself and to remain hidden. But that is what makes him great, he has only one power, sort to speak.

Finally, here is an example. Lex with powers and Lex with no powers.

Mysterio is like Lex with a battle suit. He can harm Spider-man. He seeks to kill Spider-man to prove he can.
Chameleon is like Lex without powers. He can’t harm Spider-man in combat, so he must use his brain. Mind over Muscle.

Mysterio cannot shapeshift:huh:

Casting illusions and shapeshifting are two different things.

I think Chameleon would be better as a villain causing trouble behind the scenes while Peter battles more formidable villains. Alienating him from family,on the job, and of course whatever goings on with MJ/Gwen. He would be easier to do than Mysterio altering entire settings with illusions and what not. But at this point if they go wit Kraven and Lizard, I don't really see how they could fit him into Spiderman4.

Well he is Kraven's brother, just have him working behind the scenes as Spidey is dealing with Lizard and Kraven or something

Yeah... You're right. I forgot about that relationship. I guess that could add a twist to it.

The Chameleon is a cool and awesome villain. He is great as Spider-man's very first villain and he should be the main villain in Spider-man 4, because he can't be the final villain in the next trilogy. He needs to come out before the more menacing villains show up.
