This thread is for those who like the Chameleon and want him to be in a sequel. So if you can’t say anything nice, please don’t post at all.

The Chameleon was Spider-man’s first super villain.
He is right up there with Sandman, Doctor Octopus, and Green Goblin. He is the villain I’d like most to see in a Spider-man movie. The Chameleon from the Amazing Spider-man #1 and not the cartoon version.

In the comic, he wears masks to disguise himself similar to the Impossible Mission movies.
Mind over Muscle. I feel that he has the potential to be as good as Lex, Magneto, and the Joker. I am aware he has no powers to fight Spider-man, but he has a great story that can be told with just him as the villain.

if you remember there used to be heavy rumors that chameleon was gonna be the villan in 3 before we found out about venom and sandman.

Yes. I remember .

A source very close to production recently dropped us a line with the following information about who is playing who in the new Spider-Man 3 film!

A source close to the production of Spider-Man 3 confirmed for me that the main villain played by Mr. Thomas Hayden Church will in fact be the Chameleon.

Church plays Dmitri Smerdyakov, who goes by false name Dr. Turner at Peter's college. The Chameleon also has a brother in this film, which will set up Kraven the Hunter for a future sequel I'm told. Le'ts just say that the Chameleon will use his powers of performance and identify theft to bridge a gap between MJ and Peter Parker in this film.

The producers and Raimi have a big publicity event right before production starts to make this announcement. Look for it after Thanksgiving, with production to start this winter. This will begin the hype for Spider-Man again. They will also start issuing a new animated DVD featuring the Chameleon right before the new movie hits theatres.

Also, Harry does become the Second Green Goblin, but only at the very end. He's kind of like Anakin in Episode III -- growing evil throughout the film, and not donning the full mantle of recognizable villain until the climax.

It's official: the Chameleon is the character Hayden Church will play, I promise.

This comes from a VERY reliable source, so we’re saying you can take this to the bank!

Now that I read it again, it doesn't sound too bad. With some changes maybe it could of worked.

It's kind of good and bad. I like it because maybe they would have done a scene like in Spider-man when Peter meets Harry's father.

Imagine Michael Keaton playing the part of Dr. Turner and the Chameleon.
You see him walking in a great looking buisness suit, coming down the hall way.

Miss Rebecca: Peter meet Dr. Turner. He is the new head of research on the project.

Peter: Hi, nice to meet you sir.

Turner: It's a pleasure Peter.

No one, not even Peter would suspect that Dr. Turner is the Chameleon till the end of the movie. The audience would know of course. But Peter would finally discover who it was at the end.
The bad is what is he doing there in the first place and that Peter and him know each other.
But there is a way. Spider-man keeps getting in the way of the Chameleon getting the secret plans for the serum that Kraven would use to hunt the Lizard in the sequel.

I would love to see the Chameleon in a future movie; however, I think his opportunity was in this one. I hope we do get a chance to see him before comic book movies start to play out.

Chameleon would be great to see on screen and he is as said before a simple but complex enemy to make use of.

Still would love to see old Mysterio first but can understand if they use Chameleon first.

I do not want Chameleon to be a hired goon but simply a manical mastermind.

Raimi could have gone places with him and I love Sandman and glad he's in SP3 but next up should be another classic like Chameleon, Kraven, Lizard or Mysterio.

:oldrazz:

if theres a chance for SM4 then theres a chance for any villian besides GreenGoblin, Docter Octopus, Sandman, or Venom. That leaves a pretty open playing field especially if thers 2 villians in SP4.

Wouldnt mind seeing him at all, he would add an element to the story in a way that could get many of the actors on board bigger roles when chameleon is impersonating them. Of course I have no problem seeing many of his classic villains adapted to the big sceen.

Should they show the Chameleon's real face in the movie?

SPIDER-MAN 4 CHAMELEON

how about Joseph Gatt for the Chameleon

did this quick, so, it's kinda crappy

Not bad.
I got two suggestions for you. Could you add rectangles around the eyes like Doom, from the FF4 and paint his lips white.

He wears a mask to never show his real face.

You do realize Chameleon only wore that mask like twice when he first met Spidey. He stoped wearing a mask and made his actual face featureless back in his 3rd spidey appearence.

I must acknowledge that I forgot about that. After I had posted, I remembered the cartoon version. I thought that it was possible he was doing that version, but did not want to edit my post.
I suppose, considering the Chameleon remained with the white face, the only way I could explain the white face was that it was a mask.

ya, i was going for the look from the cartoon

not of the masked look, though that would be the more realistic, and easier way of doing it in the movie

Like I said Chameleon hasnt had the masked for awhile now. He has had the featureless white face for a long time now, even before the 90s cartoon.

Yes. Your right. But I like the Chameleon from Amazing Spider-man #1 more than the other two. I think the Chameleon that made his actual face featureless is just too much for the movie. With the mask they don’t need to explain how and why his face became featureless.

I like the character, and I think he could be pulled off in the movies. I don't think he's "main villain" material though. He'd be great in a small side plot role.

ya, the chameleon is more of a hired gun type villain, not a main villain, he would probably have to be part of a set up to a larger crime organization, like Kingpins, Silvermaines, ... with the chameleon being one of they enforcers, or hitmen
maybe they could just have him working with oscorp, or one of they competitors, and have them trying to design a holograph imager, as some type of high tech cloaking device, that he steals, for whatever reason

i guess it would be possible for him to carry him own movie, they are some decent storylines of just him in them, but it would most likly be a secondary villain

Chameleon doesn't fit into the Spider-Man series maybe as a minor villain at best but nothing major. I mean the action scenes would be so boring.

Thats not true. The Chameleon does fit in the Spider-man series as a major villain. It just takes a great and creative writer to make the Chameleon as good as he can be. Magneto even with out his powers is a very interesting character.
The next movie could be the right place for the Chameleon. All they need to do is end all the major plots in Spider-man 3 and start fresh. The start of the next trilogy.
He could be amazing, just look at the Joker. He has no powers but he is not boring.
There is a way to have action scenes with the Chameleon. Now fighting scenes, I can see where people would get sad, but if they have a great and entertaining story to make up for it, It will be exciting!
