Daredevil Charlie Cox is Matt Murdock/Daredevil

So, you think Cox is the best Marvel casting yet? Even better than RDJ? From what I am reading Cox is really bringing the character from the pages to life, while RDJ pretty much did his own thing and isn't a lot like Stark is supposed to be in the comics.

It depends on which comics we are talkimg about; in some of them, Stark is a total self centered a-hole

Charlie to me nailed this role beyond beliefe. Both as Matt and as DD. He has is one of the best actors now in the MCU for me.

This sounds a little silly but when I start calling the superhero by his first name that's when I know I have a massive connection to the character and the actor playing him. Kind of like when I watch Captain America fight I say "Come on Steve!" instead of "Come on Cap!", or "come on Tony!" instead of "Come on Iron Man!". well let's just say I was saying "Come on Matt!" a lot, and it's because of that humanity, vulnerability and likability that Charlie brought to the role. Forgive me to anyone annoyed by the comparison, but my Daredevil knowledge is limited compared to the other characters, and I felt nothing for him in the movie. I actually thought he was a dull *****e most of the time there, but here he had me from the very first time we see him. The first scene of the series I felt "Yeah I think this is gonna work". Then when you're introduced to Charlie in his first confession scene my mind changed to "Yeah I know this is gonna work". I would really love to see Daredevil show up in one of the films now. Big time.

Not surprised by his performance, British actors are usually great

By the way, the kid who plays young Matt is fantastic; a million times better than young Bruce in both BB and Gotham

Yet still worse than Carl Grimes :hehe:

He brought down episode 2 for me. He was better in 7, though.

Charlie was excellent throughout. Great guy too. The opening scene really pulled me in.

I think the only other MCU actor on Cox's level in terms of fully embodying the comic character is Evans.

He was perfect. Love that they even made him slightly redhead and made Karen blonder. They embody the characters perfectly. The effort was there and it pays off.

My top 5 superhero performances:

1. Charlie Cox- Daredevil
2. Christopher Reeve- Superman
3. Christian Bale- Batman Begins
4. Robert Downey Jr.- Iron Man
5. Mark Ruffalo- Avengers

Top 5 supervillain performances:
1. Heath Ledger- The Dark Knight
2. Michael Fassbender- X-Men First Class
3. Vincent D'onofrio- Daredevil
4. Michelle Pfeiffer- Batman Returns
5. Ian McKellen- X2

well... all i can say is, Charlie sure didnt break the Brits-can-act-American-superheroes-better tradition :p

as for being the embodiment of the character? totally 100% solid gold. i mean when i first heard of his casting all i can think about was the Stardust guy :funny: now he's owned the role absolutely

btw, aint it just wierd with the initials?

Charlie Cox = Matt Murdock = Daredevil
CC= MM= DD

:woot:

True

But Murdock is a more complex character.

Law vs Outlaw
Religious beliefs vs Evil
Truth vs Lying

Of course, I would say Cox's performance is better. But Evans and Cox both perfectly embody the character they are portraying.

Hi, I'm Suzanne. I just finished spending my entire weekend watching Charlie Cox destroy everything as the most flawless Matt Murdock. Literal, actual perfection.

Now I will rewatch DD into infinity.... And marathon STARDUST and BOARDWALK EMPIRE.

Dammit, I love him. Outside of Evans and Ruffalo, my absolute favorite MCU actor right now.

I just finished episode 9, "Speak of the Devil," and no hyperbole, that should seriously be Charlie Cox's Emmy submission episode for consideration for Best Drama Actor. It's up in the air whether or not the voters would overcome genre snobbery to recognise it, but his work here was stellar enough to deserve it. Ditto for Vincent D'Onofrio's work in the previous episode.

I'm hoping great things come his way. He is SO GOOD in this. He's just naturally likable and charismatic.

I don't even want to see him in one of the movies. I just want more seasons.

I liked Charlie well enough after Stardust but am practically in awe of him after this weekend. Amazing.

I'm really interested in seeing Charlie's Matt Murdock meeting Chris Evans' Steve Rogers. Imagine the conversations those two would have. I feel they're in some ways very similar, and in some ways polar opposites.

This has to be the best I've EVER seen a superhero move without the help if CGI.

Everything about how Daredevil moved in action was awesome. I just loved his fighting style. That's how I pictured Daredevil would move around in real life.

I wonder if Ben Affleck has seen the series because Charlie wiped the floor with him. He was so charming and sweet. Strong and yet vulnerable. That's why I love daredevil.

Plus, what an amazing ass, I just have to say it

His Daredevil is perfect, I think he or rather the script would benefit more with working on the Matt Murdock part

You know one of the things I liked about Cox?

He knew how to keep his eyes when he was not wearing his mask/glasses. While Affleck went all derp eyes with his Daredevil
