How major is Oldman's role?

I would like to know this too so badly, the only description of his character can be found in the original article:

Daniel Espinosa is directing the thriller, which follows a member of the Soviet military police (Hardy) who, while investigating a series of child murders, finds himself the target of his own government’s suspicions.
In what should prove to be a meaty role, Oldman will play the head of police who is acting on those suspicions.

I haven't read the book so I can't tell anything, but probably someone here can share some info about how major his role is.

Isn't this already in the middle of filming? Kind of weird we have Philip Seymour Hoffman and now Jason Clarke (Hardy's brother in Lawless, btw) joining this late in the game.

Where did you hear that? Isn't it a bit long? I heard 70 something days for filming which means late August.

Its amazing though, Hardy looks exactly like Leo as I imagined him when reading the books, got the 3rd one there, going to read it after I finish WWZ. Man I hope they get this movie right.

I was wondering that. Using their normal accents didnt make me enjoy Valkyrie less, but for this, I hope they do attempt Russian accents just to make it more authentic.

Hardy's pretty good with accents so it'll probably be Russian.

Hhhmmm, thats a little hard to do without spoiling some major plot-points from the book which I cant see them leaving out of the movie. I will just say on the surface they are a happy married couple. Leo has a good job within the government and is loyal to communism and very patriotic towards his country. Raiza is just a house wife who Leo loves a huge amount and loves going home too each day.

Hardy looks good but awfully pale. I heard he had the flu for a while on the set. He looks a little sickly to me. Is that Noomi with him? Gary's just kept the "Commissioner Gordon" look for the last few years, hasn't he?

Yeah that's Noomi. She's blond as well.

She and Hardy actually both have kind of a '50s Russian "look" to them. Of course Hardy's uniform helps, but I've noticed Hardy's one of those actors who sometimes just has an old-fashioned look about him.

Mine too. Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace are two "getting warmer but not quite hot" actors who really, genuinely deserve notice, IMO.

I don't really agree with this. My parents didn't know who he was until The Dark Knight Rises, and didn't know what he looked like until Lawless (his most recent role). His biggest mainstream role so far is Bane, where his face was covered and his voice distorted. A lot of people on the street probably don't know his name or what he looks like.
