I saw this when it appeared on torrentspy a while back, before all the TV ads started. My brother was raving about it, "oh, it's so good!" "you gotta see this!" and all that. No different, right?

Wrong. This is an awesome movie. I was hooked from the time I saw the V for Vendetta-esque TV ad "only Britain remains," to the last scene with, and I don't think this spoils anything, the two on the boat. This is just a great movie. Cauron's best. But, then again, I've never really liked his stuff. This being the exception.

For a film that wasn't highly publicised, that's a lot.

The amazing reviews and Carmine Falcone's posts about how good it is convinced me to go see it.

The movie had great cinematography. The movie looked so good. Clive Owen and Michael Caine gave brilliant performances. I loved the Michael Caine's humor and the continuous use of "f***" in the movie. The movie had very powerful scenes, with the most powerful being when [blackout]the soldiers see the baby and just stop and stand in amazement and the people stare and become happy when they see her.[/blackout] That scene sold the movie to me. I didn't expect [blackout]Julianne Moore to die so early in the movie.[/blackout] The chase scenes were great. They got my adrenaline pumping. I liked the ending. It gave me enough closure. I didn't need to see her [blackout]get on the boat.[/blackout]

Sadly, with all of the amazing things that I just listed, the movie just didn't click with me. I left the movie disappointed and found myself a bit bored through some parts. This is one of the heavily acclaimed movies that I just didn't like as much as the critics.

I thought the movie was really good. A lot of great stuff in the movie, just felt some parts were lacking. Like what happened to all the other cities countries of the world, were they nuked or just destroyed by the horrors of humanity. Also was Julianne Moore an illegal immigrant? She didn't have an English accent.

Perfect 10 from me. Absolutely perfect. The three main action sequences that used blend cuts were flawless, especially the first car one. Incredible piece of film right there, I felt like a passenger.

It would've been so so much more powerful had they just ended it with Owen snuffing it and that's it... you don't KNOW what actually happens to the baby and the mother... they're just there... stuck on the water in the boat... that would've been a MASTERPIECE ending I thought...

They didn't show here getting on the boat, they didn't show that Kee and her baby held the secret of curing human infidelity. And like Owen said, even if they did find a cure the world had got to pot long before.
