I was at work today and got a phone call. Very clearly from the start it was a scam. Some kind of magazine subscription "contest" which was leading up to asking me for a credit card or bank account info. "$25,000 grand prize." The woman asks if I can hear her because she is overseas (no country or explanation why someone outside the country would be calling and the accent was too vague to place). And the moment I said who they called they hung up the phone. I didn't even finish saying the words.

We get some stupid scammers every once in a while but that was hilarious how fast they dropped the line. I would like to think they panicked about it too. Not that anyone will do anything about it (the FCC does nothing under Pai) but when they call the wrong number... I was almost tempted to string them along but it was almost time to go home and I did not feel like staying late to screw with some idiots.
