Is perfect for Batman. I love how he changes his voice slightly when he is in the Batman suit, especially when he is interrogating or confronting someone.

Examples of this is in the "SWEAR TO ME!" scene and from the TDK Tv Spot #6 where he says "Let her go" in a calm, but scary Batman voice.

How do you feel about Christian Bales voice as Batman?

bale's batman voice is very very bad and also inconsistently bad.....

he should take a trip to conroy's house to give him some pointers...

No Bale's Batman voice didn't suck... It's different other Batman actors.

Best post in the thread. Apart from mine. :woot:

Every other Batman used their ordinary Bruce Wayne voice, I don't understand how nobody worked out that Bruce Wayne is Batman just by their voice. Christian Bale uses a slightly different voice from his Bruce Wayne voice, something that just adds up to how he is a better Batman then previous actors.

yea bales batman voice sounded so force. Like he was trying hard to scare someone

I think thats the point lol, he wants Batman to come across as intimidating, I would be pretty freaked out if a guy in a Bat suit was yelling at me in Christian Bales Batman voice.

Yep. Why does he need to take advice from Conroy or even Keaton on doing the voice? If he does, he would sound like either of the 2. Bale is using his own & I think it's fine. Sure it wasn't perfect, but I can live with it.

Well considering he didn't even have a consistent batman voice throughout the film is worrying.

and for the record, batman doesn't have to sound intimidating, he is intimidating, he doesn't have to say anything at all to give you the shakes and a few of the lines bale delivered would have come across better if he wasn't trying to force the darkness.

Both Conroy's voice from TAS and Keaton's voice were different from their Bruce Wayne voice. Keaton's change was subtle, Conroy's is pretty damn apparent, you'd have to be deaf to miss it.

Bale's just sounds forced and unnatural, as if he doesn't like talking in that voice. I'd much rather hear something closer to Bale's voice rather than this uncomfortable sounding inconsistent wrestler impersonation they had going.

Bale's voice was not very good for Batman. His attempts of being dark ended up being oddly raspy (as in "what I doooo"). You ccan also hear him using the same voice as Bruce Wayne (compare the batcave scene and the last scene with Bruce in his limo).

he had great scenes with an intimidating voice (Swear to me scene and such)
but then he had disappointing scenes...(but what I dooo)
I still like it though

I think the whole point with the inconsistent voice thing was that it was dependent on who he was talking to. For example, with Rachel it was much less of a "scary" voice because he wasn't trying to give her a panic attack. With Flass however he was, and his voice reflected that, so much so that I remember during the screening a couple of parents were desperately trying to calm down their crying children. As for the raspingnes, well, it might have something to do with the idea of him being a creature. Though that's slightly pointless know considering in Nolan's world most of the population is smart enough to realize its a guy in a suit. Still, I bet it works wonders on the suspicious and cowardly lot :D

His voice worked in some scenes and not in anothers. It's rpobably due to him not having much experience in creating a different voice.

I liked his voice whenever he spoke to Gordon but the "Swear To Me" just reminded me of Vince McMahon fireing someone. Why does Batman have to shout?

Also Clooney was the only one not to changed his voice. Keaton and Convoy were different and Kilmer's, at times, were also different.

I still dislike it. I freely admit that it works in a couple of scenes (Flass) but more often than not it sounds terrible. "I brought mine!" is probably the worst.

Thats not even close to true. It's often noted by critics that Bale uses a different voice for every character he plays. So not only are you incorrect in saying he "doesn't have much experience" but completely wrong in that he's probably the most experienced actor today in 'using different voices'.

The voice reminds me of tough cops and i think it's effective to scare the S**t out of criminals.

I also think the Flass interrogation wa the best about bale's bat-voice. I loved what he did. But overall his bat-voice was weak. I personally vote "it's what I dooo" as the worst bit.

I don't like it that much either. To me, he sounds like he's constantly on the verge of coughing something up. I want Batman's voice to be different from Bruce's, but I should be able to buy it too. It should come more naturally, and not sound like he's straining to sound like that.

i thought some of his lines were a bit forced but worse than that is like the way his head shakes, for instance when hes interagating flasss, reminds me of an angry old man

Other than the head shakyness i love bale as batman
