LeBron James tweet: "Inception is the best movie of the year thus far! Wow"

Nelly Furtao tweet: "I am in love with.................................a movie! Can't get it out of my mind!"
Good to know it's gotten the LeBron James seal of approval. :woot:

Its crazy how he is able to make everything really intense even though you know the characters can't die. Its not so much about them living or dying but more about them finishing the job. I'm pretty sure mostly everyone in our theatre were on the edge of their seats towards the end when the music is playing big and the van is getting close to hitting the water, they're still talking in limbo, JGL is ready to blow the elevator, and Eames is getting the defibulator ready to go. That is an incredibly tense part because you start to get the feeling that holy crap this isn't going to work.

The pay-off, that is the end of the Fischer job with the van finally hitting the water, is incredibly satisfying. It's amazing that Nolan was able to set up this huge, insane concept up and deliver on it so well.

The movie isn't about the other characters. It's about Cobb and Mal. Focus on that part of it and you will be near tears during a couple of scenes...

I've found this to be true on my second viewing last night. I can identify so much with Cobb's character.
The struggle of loss and fear of letting go of someone you love. Those scenes are so touching involving their time in Limbo, growing old together, the inception of the idea that she isn't in reality affecting their "real" life, and her suicide. It's even more poignant when you keep in mind that he's having these conversations with her as a projection of his subconscious.

I agree with Jokers Wild and Red 100% It's what I've been saying. Some films have emotion that is just right out there and easy to find. Does not make it any less mind you but some especially with Nolan films are there just not blanatly out there.

Always reminds me of Wayne's World when Wayne throws water on his eyes and pretends to cry real loud as the screen flashes "OSCAR CLIP". Emotion does not need to be so blatant.

Truly if you focus on Cobb and Mal and that whole story and put it into perspective of the story and where they are most of the time, it truly does get you teary eyed. By my third viewing I was emotional (not crying lol) but I found it tugged me in deep ways.

I too have lost people close, and I understand the pain it is to let go of something. And I'm sure most of us do. It truly is a struggle.

This is my jam right now, to be honest

Hans Zimmer is such a talented composer. This track will haunt you, I've listened to it endlessly for the past week. It's so moving, dammit!

I ve seen a lot of reviews saying they didn't buy the relationship between Dom and Mal as "loving" completely ignoring the fact that the version of mal they see for most of the movie is not mal at all and that the mal of the flashbacks was disturbed, damaged and not coping with reality

Yup. The real Mal was probably nothing like the projection Mal.

Even Arthur mentioned to Ariadne that the real Mal was 'lovely'.

The only Mal we really got introduced to was the one who was:

The confused and troubled Mal that Cobb performed Inception on.

and her twisted 'shade'...

We never met the real Mal.

And apparently they forgot the scene where Arthur explains that quite clearly to Ariadne, even adding that in real life, "She was lovely."

Inception was just letting out when I was at the movies last night, and I heard two women talking about how the ski scene and all of the falling during the "kicks" made them naseous.

hope Leo and Chris end up doing more work together, cause they are one sick combo

is it? nolan has made 3 high profile movies, 2 of those movies stars morgan freeman, bruce wayne's confidante and go to guy.

Also Nolan has worked with Ken Wanatabe the same amount of times , you could criticize him for that but he is just going with whoever he thinks is right for the role .
It would be racist for him to intentionally hire a black actor just make things look diverse unless he was filming in a certain location.

Did the expect the prestige to have an ensamble cast of black comedians? there isn't exactly a huge black population in alaska either, the setting of Insomnia.

Nolan generally has a reputation of making very personal films, and well, Nolans a white British guy.

I have absoultely nothing against black actors with lead roles in movies, but I don't see why it should be mandated that a director should have to give roles specifically to them, or why not doing so is a reason to criticize them

Nolan uses one out of the the, only, two great African-American actors...

(Morgan Freeman/Denzel Washington)

It's not his fault most of the others are average at best for drama or just stick to bad comedies...

n/r

Saw it a second time, didn't catch anything new. People who say movies like this need multiple viewings need to pay attention more the first time around.

I think its almost more racist to point out that fact that he has only casted one black guy. I thought we were suppose to be past this whole race issue by now. He casts who he thinks is right for the part.

There are a lot more than two, but you're right about many of the others sticking to terrible comedies. Thats because most black directors stick to comedy.
