The Dark Knight Cillian Murphy on The Dark Knight

well we will never know until we see the movie...or until the on-set pics show up!

I'm hoping he is in. I'd like to see a cool "catching the Scarecrow" start like in the James Bond films.

I want the opening scene of TDK to be of Batman chasing and capturing (in a straight out of a comic book fight) the Scarecrow.

...and hopefully we might see the "2nd stage Scarecrow".

"A second stage Scarecrow look was created for the hallucination scenes but was never shown on film. The mask was more organic and tighter around the actor's face."

How's he playing with us? he didn't say anything.......I mean, words came out of his words....but he really didn't say a thing.

I have no idea why they even reported that.

Right.....slow news day.

we'll see...I don't see why not. I don't think Cillian has a packed schedule....well, not to my knowledge.

Huh?
I know what you mean. But if you read what he said, it's a non-denial denial, as they say, he doesn't categorically say he's not in it, and if he weren't, why wouldn't he just come straight out and say it?
And we here at the Hype thrive on slow news days, spinning every little statement every which way. Just look at the latino review thread - a thread about nothing.

MAn I hope he's in the sequel even if it's just a Cameo. He plays the pefrect creep in movies.

He didn't deny.

But, he didn't confirm.

So, for me.....he said nothing. At all.

Slow day, I know. But, still.....people could read in as much as they want into what he said.

Which was a nothing.

I think he maybe in it, I was thinking it would be kind of cool if they change his persona up a bit, and like Shave his head, and have him grow out a beard, and make him look kind of different, and he has surfaced as a pyschiotrist or something

Or maybe he could be in the opening scene to like establish Batman without revealing the Joker quite yet, by like Scarecrow being the first baddy Batman has to take down without having to much to do with the plot, just to get things rolling

I hope he does appear in TDK. I'd be satisfied if it's a cameo, even though I prefer a bigger role than he had in Batman Begins, but that's asking for to much.

Screw Joker, give me more Scarecrow!

:batman:

What? Joker is one of the best and my one ogf favourite villains in comic book history. I truly hope Cillain Murphy returns for TDK.

Some people mentioned a scene where Scarecrow gives ups some Joker info... something like Hannibal in Silence... I like that idea... though I think Joker's origin will probably be in the mob... if he is gonna come back for a lame opening chase scene its pointless and I'd rather you not have him in... thw writers can think of something better than that... whats he gonna do... escpae with a bag of money on horseback?

If they start the sequel based on the last conversation Batman had with gordon about the joker and the narrows was still infested with prisoners of arkam. I can see why scarecrow would make an appearence. Like many on this board I too hope that he gives up some info on the joker.

I would LOVE to see that -- the opening of the film is Batman ripping around the Narrows, kicking bad guy @$$ (including Zsasz), and after an insane chase, nabbing Scarecrow.

And from the shadows, or high on a rooftop, watching all of this, is the Joker, who turns from the spectacle, amused.

I wouldn't worry.... I think he will be in TDK, and rightfully so. The Joker need someone to make the Laughing Gas, and Dr. J. Crane is the perfect character to do just that........ plus a little motivation like getting back at Batman, does not hurt either. ;)

OH My God! I had that concept for the sequel in my mind since Batman Begins came out. The way i see it, Joker should create connections with other criminals in the underworld of Gotham. He would force Crane against his will to mass produce the laughing gas for him. If Penguin was in it, Joker would blackmail him into giving weapons. We would slowly see Joker's rise to power as the ruler of the "freaks" versus the mob and Batman gets caught in the middle.

Now because Batman has stepped into Joker's plot, the obsession begins for the complete humiliation and annhilation of everything that Batman stands for. Crane would explain the obvious relationship between Batman and Rache Dawes, hence the murder of Rachel. Somewhere along the line Harvey Dent would have to compromise with Joker's deception and truth about Harvey's split personality. The at the end, imagine a battle royale like in Patient J.

So ya, basically we need a Freaks vs Mob story for the Dark Knight.
