Cinemax's Banshee.

Not sure why it took me til now to realize this but I think Antony Starr would make a good Nathan Drake. Their faces aren't all that alike, but I think Antony could nail a Drake in his early 40s.

I clicked this thread to pay my respects to the end of my favourite show ever and I come to find Marvolo giving the greatest casting suggestion ever.

Banshee had the ending Sons of Anarchy should've had.

Great finale, less of a bloodfest than I expected, which was surprising but not at all disappointing. Really happy with the way things wrapped up. Job's final line was perfect!

Having 'Hood' ride past the Now Leaving sign was neat. I didn't look at it closely, but I don't suppose it said his real name on that arrest report? The tease with Carrie was clever, it definitely felt like she was going to say his real name in their goodbye scene.

Did anyone else think his real name looked like [BLACKOUT]John McClane[/BLACKOUT] on the file?

Almost felt like they left it open to a spin off

Which I'd welcome

Good ending to a great show. Will be missed, but I hope the talent spreads out from here.

Man that was an amazing an emotional finale. Hood riding off as he came in. The last scene with Sugar and Hood got me watery eyed a bit. Banshee was truly a unique world with incredible characters. There was definitely nothing like it on TV. I will feel a huge void in my heart just as I did when Justified ended.

Sugar's monologue with the new remixed version of the Banshee theme at the end was awesome. Methodic Doubt produced a fantastic score for this series as a whole.

Not the finale I was expecting but it was still a good one. All the right people lived, the right ones died and it did not feel rushed. Somehow they wrapped it all up neatly and without ambiguity.

After some of the finale's I have seen lately it is refreshing to have seen another one (Castle being another recent) go out without leaving the audience wanting more.

What the hell happened with Banshee this season? The writing was terrible, and the action sucked compared to the other seasons. Every showrunner should watch the final season of Justified and see how to end a show right.

It wasnt the way I thought the final season would go, but the writing seemed on the same level as the rest of the seasons. As for the lack of action, this season was more of a character piece and less about gratuitous action and brutality. Which in hindsight is what the show needed for its denouement.

Loved the ending. I really thought they'd reveal his real name at the end. Imma really miss this show.

I agree that the writing was on par with the previous seasons, though they did drop the ball with the stories they chose to tell. The last episode was a good send off and seemed a cut above the rest of the season, but I think that has a lot to do with them wrapping up the serial killer nonsense in the second to last episode.

I think if they'd have dropped the serial killer plot and had less of a broody Hood, the final season would have been much better.

I wouldn't say that this season was more of a character piece. It had less action, but it's not like they spent a lot of time developing their characters and giving them depth. But Banshee has never been a deep show either. It felt more like they had a smaller budget.

Yeah, the cult storyline was a mistake. What was the point of it? I do think the writing was worse this season, even if has never been a very well-written show. I hate when TV-shows and movies (looking at you, The Dark Knight Rises) spend a lot of time on a new character, when it's the final chapter. Especially when the character is as cliché-ridden as Dawson.

They really dropped the ball on Hood and Proctor. The show had built up their final confrontation from the beginning, but it never reached a climax. Proctor tried to kill Hood's daughter this season, and Hood did nothing, but when he thinks that Proctor killed Rebecca, he tries to kill him.

And then the Bunker brothers ... Of course Kurt would have to sleep with his brother's wife. It's not like there already was a conflict between the brothers, with being on different sides of the law and all. Nope, let's do it all about a woman. Really bad storytelling.

To serve as a red herring for who killed Rebecca but it didn't work. I think most people saw through it almost immediately which made it a waste of time that could have been better spent elsewhere.

I agree that this season is not as good as the first three but the ending is amazing.

I absolutely loved Job's payback on Leo. That ******* deserve it.

My favourite part of the final was when the FBI lady delivered her "the butler did it" line.

I was going to say, Eliza Dushku played his daughter in that and that wasn't her in Banshee. Only it was. How the hell did I miss that? I remember her from that, and Buffy, and a handful of other series but something about her role in this series kept me from recognizing her face.

I didn't recognize her either, not until someone at work mentioned it. Not that I'm overly familiar with Dushku to begin with, but I honestly thought she was someone trying to be Krysten Ritter when she first showed up on Banshee.

I knew Antony Starr was the lead in this (weird seeing him as a tough guy as his roles on New Zealand television have been anything but - still he's fantastic in Banshee).

I only managed to catch the finale of season 1 and seasons 2 and 3 recently.
What a great show, probably the best fight choreography tv has ever seen ( with Person of Interest being a close second - but Banshee is far bloodier, loved Hood v Sanchez, brutal).

Very hard to turn off once you've put it on - definitely best binge-watched (which is what I did).

Can't wait to get ahold of season 4.

I don't know, Jethro wasn't really a pushover. Not on the level of toughness as Hood, but in the realm of the Outrageous Fortune universe Jethro was harder than the average fellow.

First, great pic - I've just picked the first season of Justified, it's amazing. Gonna check out season 2 as soon as I can ! (not as brutal as Banshee, but dark, funny and a little bit twisted).

As for Jethro, he was cunning and pretty ruthless but nowhere on the same level as Hood, no one in OF was even close (including Wolf) - Hood has to be one of the biggest badasses in recent TV history. Best of all, he takes a beating in all of his fights, rather than just walk over everyone or look like a ninja, but every-time he comes back and grinds out a brutal victory. What a show - can't wait to catch the final season.

I agree (as I said) that Jethro and Hood aren't on the same level. None of the Outrageous Fortune characters come close to the cartoony levels of Banshee characters. I was just pointing out that you said it's weird seeing Anthony Starr as a tough guy -but he's played at least one tough guy before.

Justified is brilliant, and just gets better. The dialogue is some of, if not the sharpest I've ever seen on TV. You're in for a treat!

Just finished Banshee, one of the best, most entertaining and engaging shows in a while. It knew exactly what kind of show it was since the beginning and embraced it. It got gratuitous, but who cares, that was part of the fun. The show had great memorable characters and an engaging story so it got a pass on all of its gratuitous sex and violence.

I thought the season on a whole was solid. Not AS good as the prior 3 but still on a consistent level with them in terms of quality and writing. It all ended on a great note.

P.S. and I'm surprised that no one's really, mentioned this but Eliza Dushmu was SERIOUSLY channeling Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones. Her look, her demeanor, her snappy dialogue, I felt like I was watching Jessica Jones crossover into Banshee. Lol

Just finished binge watching the entire series.

This was a wild ride. Cool characters...repulsive characters....fantastic and brutal fights....sex scenes that made me think someone had spliced porn into the series.

Never a dull moment.
