The only reason any SHRA complaints wouldn't be justified is because they are in a fictional world. Tony Stark may not be abusing his powers because he's the good guy, but in real life those powers would be abused by someone.

Honestly, if I was a criminal, I would love people like Mistress, Brian and The Question....I really would. I would take advantage of you so easily, your bleeding hearts....

with me, it's pretty much impossible to feel sympathy for cold blooded murderers who kill for no reason at all or rapists. with you guys, all it would seem to take is a few im sorrys and I would be out free to do it all again.

Yeah. Thing about that is, it isn't true at all and isn't even remotely what I said.

Look at China. The country is massive, but the crime rate is lower because they don't take **** from criminals. Here in the west, our spines ha ve turned to jelly and our crime rates are through the roof.

Yeah. That's because we like having things like civil liberties.

Seriously, if I ever do become a criminal, it will make me glad to have people like you guys out there. I don't say that in a mean way, but damn, it would be easy to exploit and pray on you.

That's making the assumption that I'm easily manipulated. If I honestly think a murderer isn't reformed and will be a danger to society if he gets out of jail, then I wouldn't want him getting out of jail. Just because I don't believe in exicuting people doesn't mean I trust everyone automatically on their word.

Not an apt analogy. Cancer cells aren't inteligent. They don't have the capacity to suddenly become healthy cells on their own. And you can't wrongly accuse a healthy cell of being a caner cell.

And going back a bit:
You can make society safe from criminals without killing them how? by draining society's resources by providing those criminals with food, clothing, shelter, warmth, entertainment? They arent productive members of society, they're criminals. Why should society bother providing for them?

Because they could eventually become productive members of society. People have the capacity for change.

True prison isnt a pleasant experience and most people dont wanna go back there but that is mostly due to it being full of scumbags who's only role in life is to cause harm. It's ******ed and counterproductive. The people who make prison such a terrible place shouldnt be allowed to live in the first place.

And why exactly do you get to decide that? Deciding who lives and who dies should not be up to a creature as flawed as a human. Humans can make mistakes. Humans can be biased. Something like that is too big a thing to be up to a human being.
