Can't stand it. Just seems like Marvel is using Millars political beliefs to reshape their entire universe, and after reading in Wizard that Planet Hulk (which is much more entertaining) was slapped down as the major event of the year by JoeQ pisses me off even more.

Entertaining, sure. It'd be better had it been thought through better, had a writer a tad more subtle and cerebral than "action popcorn flick" Millar, and if Marvel didn't insist on ruining some of the main title's surprises via some advance covers.

But, yeah, it has some good action and is loads more entertaining, whether for good or bad reasons, than HOUSE OF M sure was. That was just an overhyped, underwhelming, underachieving bore that pretended it really effected the X-verse. CW, for better or worse, has a more universe wide effect.

ANNIHILATION is the real stuff, though. ;)

Well, this storyline is obviously easier to understand that that whole "Hourse of M" thing, I hate X-Men centered crossovers.

I expecially love the parallels between the Civil War and American today. The best about Civil War, though, is the Return of the Punisher.

Did I mention that this is my first introduction to Marvel Comics?

Unfortunately, I slightly disagree. It parallels on some levels, and on others completely embellishes paranoia, and that, I do not like. It was a much more conflicted story, and now it's so one sided, that while it can be explained away, it's just not fun anymore to do.

Yeah, I was talking to Hippy about it and we were talking about how even with its flaws its entertaining in a Bruckheimer/Michael Bay summer blockbuster way. And guys dont hate, everyone saw Armageddon.:woot:
Armaggeddon was miles above b-lister.
I honestly loved that movie.
As for CW. I can't decide. It sickens me and entertains me at the same time. I'll wait to pass judgement.

Entertaining? Yes.

An accurate portrayal of our beloved Heroes acting in a believable manner (ie true to form)? No.

It's a good story line but sometimes feel as though I'm reading an extended What If? book.

Overall for me it's a B-.

Annihilation on the other hand is Da Bomb! Even with the evil writers trying to convince me my boy Thanos is dead (we know better (crosses fingers)).

We all know Thanos will be making his comeback. I mean, probably not as Death's henchman or anything, since we all know where THAT leads. But he will.

But in the meantime, a far more awesome action will be taking place. That is, of course:

Galactus taking revenge on the imbeciles who decided to do this to him. And his plucky sidekick, the Silver Surfer.

Though I'm sad to hear that Stardust will be dying. Though I doubt she'll stay dead, she kind of looks like she can be turned into literal stardust, and just reform later, ala Beta Ray Bill fight.

I'll wait 'till it's over to fully judge. But as of now, I say no, I don't like how the characters are being handles.

Awesome writing + Badass pencils = extremely entertaining. :yay:

I don't like the concept, I don't like the mischaracterizations, and I really really don't like the level of brutality friends and teammates are heaping upon each other.

It seems like nothing more than an excuse to have another Millar-violence-political thing going on and we get enough of that in Ultimates.

I'll just be glad when it is over. Suffice to say, it doesn't entertain me.

Nail, meet hammer. Good analogy.

Im actually surprised by some of the results so far concerning this poll.

I'm loving CW so far. I hope the ending will live up to the hype. I wonder what big name dies.
According to Millar, no one.

It's not the greatest series this year but it's still a fun read.

Yup, it's entertaining. Half the fun is getting together with people that know comics and pointing out all the mistakes. I dare say that some people can't wait for the next installment to see "What will they botch up next?!".:D:up:

"Quick, Spider-Man! Use your laser spider eyes to weld the door shut!"
"Okay, Captain America! Just so long as you keep bending reality with your mind."

Is it any more ridiculous than Tony and Reed making an evil Thor clone?
