As a movie it didn't have many flaws but it was pretty boring, I think 80 is pretty okay, a little on the higher side even

I give the movie a few more points because Cap's origin was well executed and the message reasonated with me.

I didn't find it boring. It's a movie I can rewatch anytime.

Me too. A boring movie means something that has nothing going on in it to hold your attention. Cap 1 is a really good origin film and very easy to rewatch.

Cap 1 is the most underrated superhero movie IMO. It's one of my favorites, and I'm happy to hear it's up at 80%.

I dont get those kinds of comments. Boring how?

Too generic, gave me a feeling they did it just to get it out of the way, don't blame them, it was a period piece predating the MCU by 70 odd years, it wasn't gonna benefit them

They did the best they could, they had to fit the origin, world war 2 and red skull in one single movie, but I liked Thor better

I dont agree. It was a well made movie and it didnt feel generic to me at all. I think youre reaching on this one.

Only way you think Cap 1 is generic is if you think Captain America is a generic character or just don't like him.

These two scenes sum up why I'll always love TFA. Add in how likable and earnest Evan's Steve Rogers is, with great side characters like Peggy Carter, Dr. Erskine, Bucky, Colonel Phillips, Howard Stark, and the Howling Commandos, along with an unabashedly comic-booky villain in Weaving's Red Skull and his sidekick Arnim Zola, plus the fact that it's a period piece that captures the feel of a very different, simpler era and finally good old-fashioned action in the vein of Indiana Jones movies, and TFA is one of the MCU's underrated gems.

I wouldn't have had it any other way for Cap's origin story. And then TWS was the perfect modern follow-up, and I haven't seen CW yet but it sounds like the culmination of who Captain America is and what he stands for.

Spider-man 3 is NOT a better films than Cap 1. Let's be serious here....

While spider man 3 has a lot of flaws it is still a fun movie I can watch a lot and gets to much hate. If the movie wasn't coming of spider man 2 and didn't look like it was going to be even better it wouldn't have gotten so much hate. Cap 1 on the other hand I have only seen once and I fill zero need to ever watch it again.

TDKR is just a mediocre movie at best. I'd take TFA over TDKR any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I fill the complete opposite of that. TDKR is epic in ever way and TFA while it just happened.

I like Spidey 3 too. One of those movies everyone says is terrible but I can watch it from start to finish happily. Yes I even enjoy the wacky Little Nicky-esque Peter scenes. I even get choked up at the end when I watch it. If thats a bad movie, then Im a fan of em.

I think its because Sam Raimi is just a great filmmaker that can make any crazy story entertaining.

Well coming from someone who has ASM 2 as one of the best cbms of all time (ughhhhh) i suspect you might be a littleeeee biased so i'm gonna drop it here.

For the record, not a fan of ASM 1 and 2. Diff actor/director style.

I find asm2 to be the most underratied movie I have ever seen. The hate that movie gets makes zero sinces. Spiderman 2 I think is the worst of the 5 spider man movies yet but still a fun movie to watch and that is still more then I can say about cap 1.

Agree to disagree. I find ASM 2 the worst Spider-man movie ever even below SM 3. Different tastes. I just find it quite ridiculous to be anyway near best cbms of all time. But, it's your list in the end...

This post is pretty good.
Well done, keep improving.

I have no doubt it will stay above 80, I want to see it above 90.

I am sure it will stay above 90 to. I mean to say its average score is now 8. At one point it was at 8.6 and for a while it was at 8.2-8.3 and I wonder if that can stay at 8 or higher.

While asm2 seemds to be a CBM where they is no in the middle. People either love it like me or they think it is like the worst thing ever. You don't really see any one that says it was ok.

I don't think there are that many people that love ASM 2....

I mean it brought a whole franchise down with it's performance.

Yeah, I don't "hate" it, but it's probably is the 5th ranked Spider-Man movie for me. Probably will be 6th after I see CW.

So just looking at RT right now and I just saw that after all of these years spider man 2 has now dropped to a 93. So it must have just gotten some new reviews lol. So I guess dark knight is now not tied with spider man 2 at a 94. Iron man is at a 94 but its average score is lower then both spider man 2 and dark knight and I have always found iron man to be grossly overrated.

And what does that mean exactly? RT give you a general impression about a film, a pint up or down doesn't make films better or worse. Dark Knight Rises has 87% and Deadpool has 83%. I guarantee you most people prefer DP from DKR. Another example. Blade has 57% and Superman returns has 76%. Blade is a far better film.

While there is normally some sort of correlation to what fans think and what critics think but really I just thought it was interesting looking at some things. When it comes to over all consensus based of critics reviews and what people tend to say online ect I would say there are about 5 CBM that people talk about when the question is asked what is the best CBM of all time? I would say those movies are these.

Dark knight
Spider man 2
Iron man
avengers
Superman 2

Its to early to tell but from what I am hearing so far I think this movie may join that list.

I've seen TWS higher than Iron Man on quite a few critics and reviewers lists.

Superman (1978) has only 60 reviews. All the others have over 250. I don't think it's fair to be put in that list.

I'll be honest, at the time, I thought CA:TFA was a "meh" movie, but I think I was just waiting for The Avengers at that point. But the movie gets better and better and better after each re-watch. Its a very charming film with a lot of heart and good cinematography too.

Ther are some CHEESY lines though like when Evans says to Skull "Not in MY future!", i still wince at how that line was delivered. But CA TFA is a solid GOOD film.

But I think that sorta cornyish line lends itself to who Cap was back then. I mean the movie itself is a very Pro American baseball/apple pie/Aw gosh kind of super hero tale. Hes the ultimate good guy. I think it holds the line just right. Chris really was perfectly cast in the role.

It is The Dark Knight and The Avengers at the top like 1a and 1b. Followed by Spiderman 2, Iron Man, Gotg, DOFP, and bevy of others right below them.
