"It's going to be great," David Hine stated. "It's quite an honor to be working on characters on the level of, basically the original X-Men." Hine confirmed that the four living original X-Men team up for the first time in a long time in this series. Marvel wouldn't reveal if the union might lead to something after Civil War, but Breevort assured there was a specific reason these four were together again.

Interesting, what if they bring back X-Factor with Emma in Jean's place.

i'll give you the simple version the New Warriors were involved in a fight with some villians. One of the Villians cause an explosion which killed at lot of civilians including Chilren.

The Government passed a Superhuman Registration Act were Heros had to regester themselves as federal Agents and be paid for by Shelid. Iron is all for it were as captain american is against it. As the Bill has it roots in the Mutant registration Act the X-men are brought in also there is the fact that Wolverine is now an Avenger.

Can someone explain what Civil War is?

i guess i'll take this...

...you see for many, many months now the marvel u has been slowly changing. it all started when the avengers were torn apart by the insane scarlet witch. in the aftermath a breakout of the raft, a high security prison of supervillains brought together a new team of avengers. this immense failure on S.H.I.E.L.D's part was the last nail in Nick Fury's coffin, after a brain washed wolverine along with a number of other brain washed superhumans effectively crippled S.H.I.E.L.D., and after the massive fallout of Fury's independent undercover coup of Latveria involving a number of heroes. all these events forced Fury underground while a new director Maria Hill has taken over. then when Alexander Lukin employed the Winter Soldier, actually Bucky Barnes alive and brainwashed, to assasinate the red skull and obtain the cosmic cube, he powered the cube by carrying out a deadly bombing of philadelphia killing hundreds. then a secret meeting between the avengers and x-men regarding the fate of the scarlet witch turned into a disaster when quicksilver convinced the witch to remake the world in their father, magneto's image, the governing body of which was the "House of M". after a group of heroes who remembered how the world once was tried to overthrow magneto, the scarlet witch, sick of the constant threat of her father, spoke the words "no more mutants" this returned the world to the way it was with one exception...the mutant global population was reduced from close to a million to roughly 200, the so-called "decimation" which left most mutants on earth powerless. this prompted the government to form the office of national emergecy which reinstated a new sentinel program who now guarded over the xavier mansion, which was now turned into a "guantanamo bay"-esque camp for the remaining mutants. meanwhile spider-man, after joining the new avengers, became sort of an apprentice to iron man, who developed a new high-tech armoured suit for peter. eventually in a controversial move, S.H.I.E.L.D detained spider-man and psionically gleaned the truth regarding the House of M event. a seeminlgy random event turned into what might determine the entire civil war when, mjolnir, the deceased thor's hammer, fell to earth, foreshadowing the thunder god's return. the final straw was when the new warriors, who now had a reality tv show following their exploits, conducted a raid on a group of supervillains, highly above their level to handle, hiding out in the small town of Stamford, Connecticut. during the raid one of the supervillains, nitro, used his power to detonate in an enormous explosion, destroying nearly the entire town. this caused a public outcry against superheroes and prompted the government to initiate the superhero registration act, which would force all super-powered individuals to register their identity and all information with the government, turning them into federally paid civil cervants, who would answer to S.H.I.E.L.D. this split the superhero community in two with some heroes being pro registration and others being anti registration. most notably the split caused longtime friends and allies, Captain America, and Iron Man to have a falling out. Iron Man has become the guiding force behind the registration act with heroes such as She-Hulk, Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Wonderman, Mr. Fantastic, Yellowjacket, Tigra, and Doc Samson joining him. Meanwhile Cap refused to join the movement, instead going underground and giving all anti registration heroes a figurehead. His resistance consists of Falcon, Luke Cage, Hercules, Cloak, Dagger, Cable, Black Goliath, the new Daredevil, and the Young Avengers. In the most recent and shocking turn of events Spiderman, in a show of good faith and solidarity in the registration act, unmasked himself in public on live television for the world to see. casualties so far have included the new warriors, though speedball was found alive and powerless, and johnny storm was beaten by a crowd of angry civilians and he is now in a coma.

Kitty's ass looks great, Beast doesn't so much, and is Domino giving Cyke the eye?

I like Beast with a more bear like face. It's better than the cat version.

I dread the cat and bear version of Beast.

So has anyone picked up the first issue of Civil War? I wonder if I should read it before I get the Civil War: X-men side story...

I can't wait for the X-men Civil War issue.:)

@Exploding Boy - I agree with you that Beast doesn't look right in his new bear/cat look.

Hmmmm I'm wondering if I should just wait for the TPBs....do you think it'll cost me less? Plus I hate the waiting every single month and this has 7 issues...is it one a month or are they releasing them like bimonthly or something....wait, does that make sense? I meant two a month.

This looks cool, Beast though looks ....i just don't like the way he looks there.

I read the first Civil War and man was that emotional, that lady spitting in Stark's face totally made me become a Iron Man ally. Cant wait to pick up the second issue this week.

Oh and the X-MEN Civil War looks far more interesting though, just th fact that Domino is in chages everything. God i love that chick. Did the X-MEN Civil War come out already? And whats with Angel since when did he join the team?

@usagicassidy - I think they're releasing the X-men Civil War spin off once a month. The first X-Civil War spinoff release is on july 2.

@Storm X - I think Angel is one of the surprises of the spin off the writer said they had a plan for the 4 original X-men.

I can't wait to see the battle of Cyclops & Bishop.:)
