Just saved me a couple of bucks. I was planning to watch it on 3-D.

yeah I think I will be seeing this in 1D..its only 2 dimes

Do you guys think LL deserves to direct The Avengers? If COTT underperforms, then I don't think Marvel should risk giving such an important project to him.

I've already asked this on other forums but nobody has answered.

So, could somebody tell me about the action of the greek gods in the film? Do they use their powers to effect the environment (humans, water, fire, air, etc.)? I mean scenes like Thetys did with Perseus in the original film.

Thanks for answering in advance!

Can't say til I've seen it. I'm sure the action scenes will be mind blowing, but it takes more than that.

I'm just fearing that a lot of people including pro critics will mark this down due to the poor 3D conversion. Which has absolutely nothing to do with L.L.

18% so far. Dreadful. Hopefully more positive reviews roll in. I really have high hopes for this.

Not at all. He can't handle helming movies of this scale and giving strong characters, relationships, and making the movies charming and fun.

I LAUGH at the notion of Worthington as Cap. Much like Terminator, he's incredibly 1 note. With Cap you need someone like Indiana Jones. You need a guy that can be intense, but you also need a guy that can be romantic and have this fun sense of excitement and spirit.

Worthington has shown none of these qualities necessary for Cap on the bigger stage he's been on.

Aside from the 3D, the movie is weak. The first act is very rushed. They set up this whole thing of humans rebelling against the Gods, but at first you kind of hate the humans because it looks like they are being selfish provoking *******s. Perseus' wants revenge because of his family against the Gods, but you never really care about his family because it seems they are barely even established for like 2 script pages.

I walked out of the movie and it ended up being like 95 minutes or so.

It might have all the fancy bells and whistles, but the original is a classic for a reason.

This movie had similar parts to the original, but this movie GLOSSES over everything so they can get to the next action scene.

That's a disappointment. I'm a huge Greek mythology fan, and after Hollywood glossed over the Olympians in Brad Pitt's Troy I was hoping that the movie studios will one day not be afraid to show the Greek gods on the big screen again, and I got my wish in COTT. But it seems like they really screw the pooch on this one. Oh well, I might still try to catch it when I have free time, but I'm not as enthued to see it like I was before.

No, he certainly needs at least one big film without obvious flaws under his belt before he deserves to get that gig.

And its average rating is 3.8/10. Oof, I did not think COTT would be good after those negative reviews of the clips but I didn't think it would be this bad.

I didn't think the movie was bad at all. Was it great? no, but certainly not as horrid as some critics seem to be making it out to be.

I avoided the clips so I wouldn't have it ruined, and because watching the clips for Terminator 4 really deflated me. I'll keep my hopes up 'til I see the film, but it's gonna hurt handing over my cash. Shame, I LOVE Greek Mythology

The original was one of the big "hey, check out our special effects!!" back in it's day...if the new film is similiar to the original then i'm sold.

It's possible that if you're a real Greek mythology fan you might end up liking the movie better than the average critic. That's what I'm hoping for, anyway.

Apparently the slight difference is this COTT is trying to play it serious when the source was complete ham and knew it.

Good God, LL's name has actually appeared to direct the Avengers? Please God no. I like him from a stylized and action standpoint and I liked TIH, but I don't think he can handle something like The Avengers. Get Abrams or hell, Spielberg (the man has nothing to do right now, other than a billion projects he bought) should direct. I mean Spielberg directing The Avengers, the universe would explode. I think it would be great. Hell, he could have made a great Cap director.

It's apparent this is not going to be the equal to the cult classic, but more of a diversion summer blockbuster deal. Guilty pleasure flick, man.

Incredible Hulk was just a more tamer, water down Louis.

I think this is another case where the original will live on and the remake will be obscure by history.

The closest thing El Spielbergo has come to directing a superhero movie is probably....I wanna say Hook due to the whole thing about Peter having to go through another origin regarding his powers and maybe Catch Me if You Can due to Leo being the anti-hero hounded by the authorities that doggedly try to bring him to justice. This would be a good project I think.

It's SIMILAR but nowhere near as good. Does that help?
