Hell yeah!!!!

Raimi needs to work on SM4. But, Clash? Great movie idea- but... think there may be others more suited for the project- Spielberg.

These are the types of remakes and reimaginings we NEED to be making, thank god Hollywood finally recognized that! We need this, Sinbad, Tarzan, Hercules and the rest of the Greek heroes. With todays effects these films can really be amazing! They were spectacles of wonder in their day and the sure as hell can be now in modern cinema as well, with the right cast, crew and studio behind it.

These is the type of remakes I've been waiting for! Other remakes- why? These remakes- with the effects of today these classic storys can be realized again or finally realized to their fullest potential. Mythological stories are off the hook! :)

Well anyone who has ever seen Army Of Darkness would know he could do a very good remake of Clash Of The Titans. I also thaught he'd be my number 3 director behind Peter Jackson and Gore Verbinski for The Hobbit

I just hope that if they do create these remakes/reimaging they try to keep that sense of movie magic that the originals had, and that they do not try to commercialize everything to the point to where were just watching one long commercial for some new toy.

Yeah. :csad:

Unfortunately, that's what we end up with a good percentage of the time.

not sure how i feel about this. Sam Raimi's a good director when it comes to action and fantasy, but the acting in his Spider-Man movies just flat out sux...

...if he tackles this project i hope he brushes up on his acting directing.

I hate Raimi so I pray he doesn´t direct it

Clash of a titan was not an action movie, it was adventure movie. I dont see Sam Raimi being able to make an adventure I see him toning the movie down to where its more on the level of younger children. Where as the original was made for all ages to enjoy.

Here's an idea; hell no.

Not so much to Sam, but to remaking this in the first place.

I dunno, I wouldn't mind an update. Sam's not a bad choice, either. Too many people have negative Spidey feelings towards him, I think.

The original was great but that doesnt mean there shouldnt be a remake, it could be updated and turn out to be something incredible.

I have to give dorkyfresh credit for this on but I really agree that Guillermo del Toro would make a great director for this. Using Pan's Labrynth as a reference he did a great job with the story telling elements and the unique visual of the aspects of the film set him up as being the right man for the job for a remake of clash of the titans.

LOL. Well, if he couldn't get "The Hobbit," at least he got the next best thing...

Yeah Guillermo would be good among Peter Jackson and Spielberg. They really can handle this type of story and bring something to it.

Raimi is a great director, but I don't think he can move out of the super heroic realm. His SM movies are great, but can he do more than that? 'Dark Man', in essence, was the first SM film actually. I just don't see the guy doing science fiction adventure fantasy realm.

And as I said there SHOULD be a remake. These type of films are based on MYTHOLOGY. Stories from ancient MYTHOLOGY. So, that gives it more of a freedom... same thing with Sinbad, for example, or perhaps Hercules as well. There is no reason why they can't remake it that will make sense, other than those who don't want to see a new yet similar take on ANCIENT MYTHOS.

I agree with you, look at God of War while it took many liberties it did have a lot of great takes on ancient mythology. I would love to see more mythological based movies being made, with the technology now there's no limit.

Exactly. Greek and ancient mythology has survived for so long because the stories are EPIC. And with today's effects we can create almost everything realistically that were in those stories.

I would understand people upset about remakes concerning 'The Hitcher' 'Texas Chainsaw' 'Halloween' etc.

But, this is ancient mythology or very very old texts that we are talking about, which some things could not be realized to their fullest potential whereas in other remakes the original had no difficulties at all in it's path. So, as I said- I don't see why people are moaning and groaning over remakes like this and- hopefully- soon Sinbad and Tarzan. Hell, the myth of Hercules would make for a kick ass feature film!

All of these ancient texts and etc. survived for a reason. Their world survived for a reason and that's because of it's depth and fantasy. Part of me believes that if ever a classic mythological film was to come out in all of it's glory it would be off the hook! And by that I mean it will shadow over Potter, Narnia, perhaps even LOTR. Because those are the stories that have truly tested the spans of time. There's just something about the world and those creatures and supernatural beings that attracts us and always have to their world. It's ALOT richer than all of the science fiction and fantasy worlds populating movie theaters right now, except perhaps Tolkien's LOTR which has also in it's own way stood the test of time.

If this keeps him from making another bad superhero movie, I say go for it.

the original movie was horrible. okay, neat effects for its time, but the acting was downright awful.

Yeah it was garbage. Even as a kid I knew it wasn't good but it was fun to watch. I will possibly catch the new one depending on who is in it.

So they should remake Gone with the Wind or The wizard of OZ or Casablanca.

i don't see why they can't remake Wizard of Oz but that's besides the point. Clash of the Titans is nowhere near the classic that Wizard of Oz, Casablanca, or Gone with the Wind are...

anywho...does anyone have any suggestions for the cast?
