Clayface written by Mike Flanagan

Here are some more photos taken on set and posted on social media.

• Various graffiti and props to take us to the streets of Gotham.

• Some newspapers, featuring a disfigured man...

• I don't recognize the actor, but could this "crime syndiate boss" be somewhat of a variation on our beloved “Dagget”? Or it could be nothing...
EDIT : This character appeared in Batman #4. They've dusted off an oldie here!

• Apparently, Liverpool’s law courts will be used for Gotham hospital.

"Ashes on Sunday"...
"Mad Bomber"...

But also, from the newspaper in the previous post...
A "party drug" causing "ignorant BLISS"?

Holy speculations! :o

They retconned the Arkham drug from Penguin?
Honestly, I don't think there's any real connection between this movie and Reeves' universe, but it's hard not to think about it...I still say it's a coincidence.
I mean, as often with props like this, that detail probably isn't meant to be seen on screen anyway...

Maybe it's just the work of some twisted graphic designer who did it to torment us...

Maybe he's even here... lurking...!

No, but seriously, I think it's a hidden nod at best.

I can feel the grimey, downtrodden Gotham atmosphere already. Love the graffiti, ads and newspapers.
Yes! I really like the way Gotham is portrayed in recent films.
Whereas in Joker or The Batman (and Penguin), there's this gloomy and decrepit atmosphere.
Really happy to see that Clayface will apparently follow this.

Despite the fantastical nature of this film, I was worried that this movie might be a little shy about its affiliation with the Batman universe. But with these first visuals and the references hidden within them, we can definitely hope for a very “Batman-esque” film, even if the character himself will be absent.

If it ends up evoking BTAS, from which he drew its script, I will be absolutely ecstatic!

I know this new universe is all about giving filmmakers more creative freedom, but Gunn shouldn't back away from make it sure they stay close to source material and don't shy away from comics. I expect at least a couple references to Batman, unlike the Penguin were criminals were pursuing their activities without an ounce of fear Batman could get involved, like he doesn't even exist.

You can never really tell until you actually see it in the context of the film, but the Gotham aesthetic isn’t nearly as different from The Batman as I would’ve expected.

Once again, I might be getting merge-pilled against my better judgment.

It seems fairly close, yes.

Man, make-up artists truly deserve much more recognition. I feel for the poor bastard, even though I know it's just makeup.

This looks like a tragedy horror movie but it will be our first introduction to the DCU Gotham………. I am intrigued.

In addition to being a good idea for reducing the cost of shapeshifting sequences, this kind of trick also promises a rather stylized and atmospheric film...

And I really, really like that!
