because of this movie, "hideous chud" and "porch monkey" have irreversibly been imprinted in my vernacular.

Triligors said:The movie was hilarious. Really, really funny. Loved the 'you hit the jackpot tiger' line, but don't know if anyone outside of comic book fandom would catch that. I also really like how Kevin Smith stayed true to where he is heading into film- part of the film being about accepting fatherhood. So, that's good to see. Overall a really, really great film that I can't wait to see again in theaters.

Especially since the Spider-Man movies will never put it in.Goddessreicho said:Best comic book line ever. Thanks Kevin Smith for giving it back to us![]()

clerks 1 very cool 1st film for an amateur filmmaker
but you grow, release better stuff
mallrats awesome, chasing amy much better, dogma fun poke at religion
then he goofs off with jay & silent bob strikes back
then he makes serioius but decent movie with jersey girl
clerrks 2 just feels like flakeout to me, i cant believe its exact same thing as his very first film, thought it would have at least evolved to somthing closer to j&sbsb which is str8 up airplane, naked gun humor, it's sad that he is still making "deep philsophy" movie about quickie mart dudes, even though theyare flipping burgers instead of selling cigarettes, EVOLVE Kevin Smith!! give us something new and original, not same losers over 40 that made your first ever premiere film![]()
I agree. It's brilliant. That's why I think alot of people didn't get Clerks IIBeserkerHilf said:yea, i picked up the screenplay at the secret stash the other day and i loved how smith described it there:
"As we slowly pull back, Dante and Randal's smiles slowly drop as they realized what they've done, and the color in the shot drains to BLACK & WHITE. Somehow, amazingly, these guys are right back where they started."
i think that if you just discovered the genius of Clerks like, just last week, the effect of that last scene is wasted. IMO, the longer you've been a fan of clerks, the more you see the humor in that these guys are now in their 30's and still doing **** jobs and the how funny the ending is.

Therefore, they are having lives as owners and are making money for once. I think that if it was a "crap, we ARE back where we started" ending...they should have had it all cheesy with that stupid Alanis Morrisette song and then silence, so Randall can say "Oh, ****." Because the humor was unclear and the ending was obviously good but TOO happy, if Smith was going for something else.
SpandexFan said:And another thing about Clerks 2, Rosario Dawson is 10x the actor of EVERYONE in that movie! It's sad how much she outacts the dude who plays Dante. Randal barely manages to hang, only because he has a funny character, but Dante looks out of his league. Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith are better actors than the dude who plays Dante.
