Comics Clone Saga pictures thread

Eventually the artists got lazy and came up with some explanation, that he actually beat the degeneration and everything basically leveled out. Which is why he has the grid pattern scars in Spider-Girl and in his later 616 appearance (Redemption)

in response to how the clone saga ended

wow that sounds awful, it also sounds like scarlet spider got beaten very easily, but wasnt he just as powerful as spider-man? who is also slightly more powerful then GG?

Ultimate Kane looks more twisted I think...with the whole eye thing and all.

Kaine looks really upset about getting kissed there...

Here's another Kaine unmasked.

Who's he kissing?

Does anyone have any pics of Spidercide? Plus, what happened to him?

Shannon, a player in the "Great Game" who is sponsored by James Johnsmeyer, follows Kaine around and manipulates him (as part of the "game").

Yes.

And this is what happened to him.

So now he's in someone's (probably SHIELD if they ever follow up on it, which I hope they don't btw, he sucked) custody and hasn't been heard from again. Kinda like Baby May if you think about it.

Kaine looks really upset about getting kissed there...

Kaine had women issues (read LOST YEARS now!), having murdered his only major love (Louis Kennedy) after being betrayed by her in a big way. The situation with Shannon directly mirrored that, so it all came flooding back to him during that kiss. Of course, women being women, this one *also* betrayed him, but this time he doesn't kill her - Reilly convinces Kaine that he has a *choice*.

Boy, these pics (both here and the Reilly thread) sure do bring back memories (and prompted me to login after years of inactivity). Especially the LOST YEARS and Kaine Revealed pics. The critics who were never there to read along the ride will never know, there were many moments of eloquence and pathos in the Clone Saga - these are some of them.

kaine took out loads of clones here with the same abilities and strength as spidey, he really should be up there...

heck, if anyone should have gotten the venom symbiote after brock left it, it should have been kaine, the symbiote would have gotten what it thinks it wants (parker) and we get to see a really REALLY big threat for spidey come into play,

it could have been so beautiful (plus the symbiote could have stopped the regeneration occuring)...

Great shot November. Tom Lyle really owned adjectiveless SPIDER-MAN. He drew the best Scarlet Spider, too.

I grew up with the clone saga. It was my 'first' major spidey saga. I'll never forget it.

It's what got me into science, really. The whole genetic eingeneering side of it.

Does anyone remember if Bagley ever drew an unmasked Kaine (other than his GREAT version in USM)? If someone can remember the issue, I can post it up.

Here are some pictures I was able to find on the web of the Jackal.

Below is a picture of the Jackal emerging from his regeneration tank. It is from the cover of Amazing Spiderman during the Smoke and Mirrors arc.

This is the Jackal from I believe Web of Spider-man 123 (the "Players and Pawn" storyline) shortly before before Maximum Clonaga took place. This was the issue I believe in which he left his huge hideout (which was pretty much located out in the middle of nowhere) and actually decided to don some duds this time. In this issue he battled Scarlet Spider in Parker's old high school gym I believe? Anyway, he faked getting beat by Scarlet Spider to study the insides of Dr. Kafka's Ravencroft Asylum for some forgettable reason.

Jackal coming out of his regenerative tank (a similar tank to which Kain was put into after being impaled by Spidercide) in which he had been lying dormant for some time while gaining enhanced superpowers since the original clone saga in the 1970's. This was the big reveal in the Smoke and Mirrors storyline, which was the near the best storyline (in my opinion) of the entire clone saga. If anyone has this picture including the background feel free to post it.

He looked like Count Chocula.

Actually, that's not completely true. All the clones Kaine wailed on weren't identical carbon copies of the original, they sortofa quick fix clone, released from their chambers before they were completed. Thus the clones were basically just mindless dolls whose abilities did not fully match or equal that of Spidey's.

Course, that doesn't mean the butt whooping he delivered wasn't any less sweet.

He would have drawn an awesome unmasked Kaine. As it is, Tom Lyle got first shot (and best).

Never liked JRJR's rendition of unmasked Kaine in LOST YEARS - he drew him like a caveman hobo when the concept is that he's Peter Parker, twisted. I didn't like that other artists then carried on that style for Kaine in REDEMPTION and his brief THUNDERBOLTS cameo. JRJ *did* get it perfect in Adjectiveless SPIDER-MAN however.

Herb Trimpe drew an OK rendition of unmasked Kaine in one of those clone saga specials (either JACKAL FILES or THE PARKER YEARS I think).

I really would have dug a Bescuma/Sienkovitz (sp) visual of Kaine unmasked, those two really packed alot of emotion into Kaine's *masked* face.

Oh, hahaha I was actually referring to how cool it would be if Kaine became the new Venom instead of Gargan.

i specifically remember although they were quick fix, that was only a measure of how stable they were rather than their actual abilities...

i remember when ben was trying to escape from them that he mentioned they had all inherited his intelligence instantly that he had spent years going to school to aquire (when he still thought he was real), and that the manner in which they all searched for him methodically reflected this.

ugh man, actually the more i think about it the more ben reminds me of terry mcguiness, a sort of spider-man Beyond sort of character. essential make up of the original while rougher round the edges and a lil less experience but a lil more resourceful.

i really love those sort of characters, probably why most of my favourite characters in fiction are actually clones or second gen villains...

Are you guys serious? Tom Lyle's art makes me want to dig out my eyes with spoons. :down
